Pros
It’s a good company to join if you are looking for short-term experience. You will have the opportunity to learn different skill sets, and most of the team were very welcoming and kind. I learnt a lot in a short space of time, especially how to handle pressure and to be solution minded to deal with ever changing requests.
Cons
It took me a while to write this review because my time with the company, though short, was impactful in many ways, making it difficult to describe my experience. This company attracted me primarily because it positioned itself as a champion of mindfulness, which resonated with me, especially after the COVID lockdowns. Additionally, I was a follower of one of the founders, which added to the allure. If you’re considering joining, here are my experiences. The interview process was lengthy, involving multiple rounds, including both in-person and video interviews. It seemed to focus more on assessing my personality and appearance than on evaluating my professional skills. The first three weeks were chaotic. I was constantly moved from role to role without any clear structure. It wasn’t a professional experience. I was also prescribed a few self-help books to read, such as Atomic Habits and Linchpin as the company ethos was based on them. As a new starter, I was eager to contribute and offered suggestions based on my experience. However, most business decisions seemed to come from the founders’ influencer circle, regardless of fit, which was disheartening. Although the company is fundamentally a stationery producer, the founders focused heavily on podcasts, events, and dinner parties. This constant shift in direction was draining. There was an element of gaslighting from the founders. If I took initiative without their approval, I was reprimanded. Yet, waiting for their confirmation, even after following up, led to criticism for not being proactive. Their emphasis on being a "linchpin" felt more like a tool for manipulation. No personal boundaries. They would message you on WhatsApp at any time, weekends, late at night, early in the morning. The constant notifications caused me anxiety, after one particularly bad experinece I finally decided to hand in my notice. Since leaving, several other employees, including multiple senior staff, have also exited. Most have been there less than 6 months, which is not a good sign. I admit I was naive to believe the influencer I followed was genuine, but it was a shock to see how different the reality was. The mindfulness the founders promote seems more like marketing than a genuine belief. Their exclusive event in Ibiza further confirmed that their version of mindfulness is more about wealth and appearance.
