- Unparalleled levels of anxiety, can genuinely say I've never felt so worthless and stressed in a job – particularly one that was below my experience level.
- Interview tasks took about 5 years off my life, crazy amount of work for a junior role (and the salary!) - this should've been enough to send me running.
- Micro-manager central! I genuinely felt sick turning up to work each day as I constantly felt I was doing something wrong. Often being asked to hop on calls at random points of the day to give updates, questioned whenever my Teams icon went yellow or if I took too long going to the bathroom (often to cry!) ... I could honestly go on and on and on about this.
- Onboarding process was truly terrible – I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and was made to feel like an idiot for asking questions on things that were just never explained.
- Workload was next level – and there was no margin for error! This was an assistant/junior level role but the output expected was that of a midweight/senior. I was made to feel useless for not being able to keep up, constantly being patronised saying that "it's not that hard" and i'm "too soft" - BIG boomer energy, the word "snowflake" was thrown around far too liberally.
If you want to question your worth and career path, this is the place for you! It takes a very specific (dare I say masochistic?) person to work here. A shame as the work has the potential to be really interesting.
