Money making scheme--Mark Bogert

Pros

The only "pro" to this organization would be to have an example of a company to NOT model from.

Cons

This is a for-profit business that puts money far above the needs of the kids under their care. The Youth Quest kids mostly live in squalor. They are disruptive to the condo community that they live in because of behavioral issues and lack of supervision. It's not fair for these kids to live in an unwelcoming community. Mark Bogert is lining his pockets through Youth Quest and Santa Rosa Properties at the expense of these marginalized children and young adults.

Pros

Many of the staff and front line supervisors have amazing knowledge and heart.

Cons

Upper management (regional level and director level - in this department - and above) represents some of the most disconnected and apathetic individuals I have encountered. HR is hobbled due to lack of support for change that assists the staff, and the company as a whole utilizes a state-sanctioned discrimination law, allowing them to ban LGBTQ parents from fostering, based on Judeo-Christian beliefs (and this is not the only company that honors it, but the review is about them).

Pros

You will gain experience working with clients with severe behavioral needs.

Cons

If you are looking for experience with true mental health issues and treatment, you will not gain it here. Rude, unprofessional, and management that is not supportive or sympathetic to the needs of the employees. They will accept anyone who is referred to the program even when some team members are expressing extreme concerns with certain clients. It's only a money issue to them! I don't know if the owner, Mark, is aware of the severe issues within the group homes. If he is then he's no better than anyone else in the company. If not, then he should step up and try to make changes. That could start by visiting the homes and actually listening to the concerns from employees, as well as the clients. If you are looking for a job, look elsewhere. It's disgusting, depressing, and disturbing what the upper management of this company does.
