      Your comments are disheartening but I understand your frustration. The language training market in France has become extremely competitive with a major decrease in the average price per hour of training over the past 5 years. At the same time technology has become increasingly important requiring massive investment. In order to survive, these factors have forced us to make difficult choices. For example the workshops you mention came at an average price of 30 000 € for 2 days. Last year they were replaced with online workshops that are much more economical. We as a company have done all we can to find the right balance between high client satisfaction and employee satisfaction. Many large language schools have collapsed over the past couple of years and my main priority is and always has been to preserve the company and the employment of all those who rely on the company. This has not been easy and I'm sorry if you feel that your needs are not being considered. I invite you to speak directly to me or to your manager to look for solutions. Kind regards, Eric Wrobley

      Good opportunity but Company could still improve

      Good opportunity to work and teach Basic and Business English, pay is average to good, some days include work from home or anywhere quiet and conducive to learning

      Cons

      Opportunity to grow is lacking, teachers are drained with he reports requested by management when in fact, the middle management eg. Head Teacher or Coach should be responsible in monitoring fully all the lessons and doing the reports (ideally), they seem to like giving memos often as a norm

      Pros

      I work at their branch office outside France, but currently working from home because of the pandemic. Here are my observations. -open communication between coaches and coordinators/admins -comprehensive and detailed best practices for teaching English -possibility of a pay rise -possibility to work in other areas aside from teaching, such as pedagogical work and language level assessment, given that you've undergone the required training by the company -timely feedback and update for coaches -the lessons given are based on the coach's ability to give meetings. They make sure that the coach is comfortable or has the skills in taking on a low-level or high-level learner and also encourage everyone to expand their knowledge of teaching level 1 to 6 learners. -even if we are obliged to work at the office, the company is kind enough to allow some of the employees to work from home 1 or 2 days per week

      Cons

      -there's a particular way of teaching or doing things, so training period could be quite intensive. But the team is encouraged to help one another and there's a team of team leaders to answer your questions. -you might receive complaints from the learners sometimes, especially if you are not familiar with the culture. The thing is you should be careful what to discuss with the learner. Stick to general subjects and avoid personal ones. We have support documents, so you'll be fine if you diligently follow the support. -somewhat unsociable working hours. I am based outside France and we have a huge time difference. It's sometimes hard to communicate to your colleagues in person as you have different shifts. Also there's a possibility of receiving late responses from France office.
