Pros

None. Only pro's are for sales people.

Cons

The top guys made you do random activities that did not benefit the company as a whole. These activities were outside of company "paid" time, so basically the best way to not pay you. Most of the people are underpaid, unless you are a sales person then you make money. They quiz you on their corporate values, yet do not live up to them at all! "Open and honest communication" does not happen, people talk behind each others backs. The top guys ask for your opinion yet do not listen to anyones and say you are wrong if you do not like their idea. Under-appreciate the graphic designers and marketing team. If they even get an inkling you are looking for another job they will force you out. - Very cult like!

It is unfortunate that we are receiving this feedback after your time with us is over. Open & Honest communication is a critical part of our everyday at Intrigue Media and if we had only know this is how you felt, we could have done a better job to make it better. Your feedback will not go unheard and we will look into what we can do to ensure that opinions are being heard and people are being honest with each other.

Pros

I was a full time employee at Intrigue Media and It was evident from day one that the owners as well as the amazing team at Intrigue want to help grow your industry skill set as well as leadership abilities, everyday. Making sure everything we did would better support our community. Trends within the industry as well as learning materials were constantly brought to the teams attention to help you become a best practice professional. I have never seen employers invest so much time mentoring their employees and genuinely caring for them.. truly a great origination!

Cons

I know typically you at least have to find one con to share, although i truthfully had a great experience and have no negative feedback.

Pros

Reasonable pay. Interesting projects. One CEO is very nice.

Cons

The second CEO has anger management issues, is a bully to the team and quite willing to lie directly to your face. Anyone who has worked there knows the name of the person being described which should make it clear that this is a valid review of them. Other team members will dismiss it as, “Oh, that’s just how he is.”, which is not a healthy attitude. Drinking the Intrigue Kool-Aid is an important step in being taken seriously and rewarded both professionally and financially. If you fail to recognize the value of personality tests, marketing guru books and the most recent management process they have read about and want to try you are not going to have a good time. Management will ask for open communication and promise that all input will be taken into account but only a small number of voices are actually heard or taken seriously. One of their central philosophies is a quote from Star Wars, posted on one of the office walls. Seriously.

I must start this reply by apologizing. I have to admit that I am passionate when it comes to getting the most out of our team and Intrigue, sometimes it gets the best of me. I have been working on it for years, I’m not perfect. To be clear, this reviewer is referring to myself, Rob Murray, as the bad cop. I will own that as I do my best to lead with accountability inside our organization for the best of the company. For the most part, this review is accurate. When it comes to personality tests, we believe that a leader must first be self aware, yes, we value that. Reading books and studying management processes is a core value at Intrigue. ‘Learning - Practice an Unquenchable Thirst for Applicable Knowledge’ Yes, we value that. Drinking the kool-aid, yes we value people that are aligned with our purpose to Empower Leaders & Strengthen Communities. We have been marching towards the same direction as a company for 4 years, niching down and narrowing our focus on the clients and entrepreneurs we serve in order to become specialists and expand into the US. It’s working, we’re not deviating from that. Anyone reading this, we’d love your help to make it happen faster! We do have spouses in the same office. We value them. We won’t stop bringing family to company functions, and welcome everyone on the team to do the same, especially babies and puppies! In the end, I’m sorry we put you in a place that didn’t fit. I wish you nothing but success in your career and happiness for you and those closest to you. I must state though that the ‘lying to your face’ comment above has no bearing. Lying makes you have to remember what you said, I’m too forgetful to make that work. But, if I did mislead you in any way, I apologize. Lastly, Yoda is amazing, that’s not going to change either. ----- Rob Murray CEO Intrigue Media
