I only regret being unable to give this company 0 stars.
Pros
If you're looking for quick cash and an easy entry-level job as a lifeguard in a low-stress environment (depending on the pool you work at), then this is the place for you. Easy enough work, you take pool readings and perform duties relevant to your location and ensure a positive customer experience. Friendly, pro-social personality makes the job much easier, and depending on how you play your cards, the people who live in the buildings can help you get into a very nice career since this company services a very wealthy client base, mainly in Tribeca and DUMBO along with other affluent areas.
Cons
Management was incredibly hostile and offered no opportunities for career advancement, nor was any creativity or independent problem solving welcomed. If anything, independent thought and problem solving was seen as a hindrance and treated with active hostility. If you referred a friend or family member, you can expect management to talk behind your back and actively work to make life a nightmare for the two of you. Word spreads fast in the company, and management is neutral and fake-friendly towards you at best, and outwardly hostile towards those not in their circle. You can expect to do most of the work when you're not working, and management offers no support or cover if you want to take a vacation. If you are a manager, expect to be woken up at 2:00 in the morning and told your cover can't come in today, even though you just got home late at night and need to take the next shift which starts in four hours, and run on caffeine and sleep deprivation. When my then girlfriend narrowly avoided being assaulted by a member of Barclay Tower's staff, Iowa Sports Management did next to nothing to assist her. The only good thing they did was place her at a pool in Brooklyn which was much easier to manage. She was simultaneously placed at a much more difficult pool, where management was condescending and hostile towards her, and frequently debased both her and myself, although I was no longer a member of their company.
