Pros

Profit share + Bonus Scheme Free product on occasion, plus €500 worth on stock per year Opportunity to travel (if in the right role)

Cons

What isn't evident from the outside is Irish Distillers is very much controlled by the parent company (Pernod Ricard) in France. If you aren't french, white and male (or not willing to pretend to be) then your career is very, very limited. Pernod Ricard as an organisation has set themselves up with an extremely inefficient structure. They call it "decentralised to encourage creativity and debate", my observation is that this is barely contained chaos. At an HR level, they only want people in roles for two to five years, with a willingness to move countries within the group regardless of personal circumstances. If that doesn't work for you - welcome to a dead-end role until they come up with a reason to let you go (usually this a payout and gleefully telling everyone you got fired). This has a number of impacts on the organisation; - Most people don't have the skill set for the role they are - HR don't provide any real training for that role - The more incompetent rise to the top, as they are more willing to leave a mess in their wake after their minimum tenure - Since the incompetent don't know how to hire well, they opt for similar people with similar backgrounds - any idea that hasn't come from a French person is almost immediately dismissed The sexism and toxicity there is terrible - the international marketing department at times resembles "Mean Girls" the movie, rather than "Mad Men". The overall group is full of Ricard family members (or family friends of) in senior positions, which require at all times, deference to them. Also something to note - what the ratio of women vs men are in senior positions (C-suite) across the group are, and then how many (overall) are not French.
