Pros

a lot of the people who work as carers are wonderful people

Cons

too many to name, no work life balance, sadistic upper management who openly say in front of staff they "love giving people warnings and letting people go", the management below them too afraid of losing their jobs to stand up for their employees, they have employees spy on other employees

Pros

Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients.

Cons

Poor management and lack of support for staff. Communication from supervisors is often unprofessional and dismissive, and concerns are not taken seriously. Favouritism is noticeable and creates an unfair working environment. Hours are inconsistent and unreliable, making it difficult to depend on a stable income. Low mileage rates and inefficient scheduling add unnecessary stress.

Pros

You can work Flexible hours and build great relationships with the clients.

Cons

You can't rely on them. You don't have set hours and there for don't have a reliable wage. Your hours can fluctuate massively. I went from 40+ hour weeks to 15 and couldn't get more hours when I asked . I repeatedly asked for more hours and it wasn't until I handed in my notice did the manager then agreed to give me more hours but it was too late. They will use you to cover hours so they can hire new people then take clients from you to give them hours. Not a great industry to work in.
