It’s a remote position. Taxes

This company will wheel you in.. the CEO Alex have these town hall meetings where you think you gather more insight on what you will be doing but instead it’s a hour of him patting himself on the back! He really does come off as arrogant and misogynistic! The team leads they hire have absolutely no idea how to lead at all! The whole company is very confused with no sense of guidance. They offer a great base pay but good luck getting them to actually pay you for the hours you bill!! Then you have to fight to get a hour or two out of the pot as it’s a first come first serve thing. The training is non existent, you literally are instructed to self learn the program, learn the systems , learn how to bill for your hours, and learn the metrics!! All within a week, then they throw you on the phones. If you reach out for assistance with anything you are instantly reprimanded and made to feel stupid for asking.. All of these positive reviews I believe are fake or are incentivized. We literally had a whole team just quit last year! Oh and Ms. Ann please don’t come with the template, hot n ready responses. Nothing you can say will justify this nonsense. Sad thing is that I love preparing taxes for customers, this company has left a bad taste for the whole industry!

Pros

You can work how you like as long as the job gets done.

Cons

- no culture - pay is way below market with little to no increases even when you are a top performer - promise of new opportunities when in reality there will never be any. - Management does not care for their employees even though they put on a show acting like they care about your wellbeing and future. - zero team building - if you aren't a part of management, you get treated like you are replaceable at any given moment. - CEO is very arrogant and rarely has any interaction between the more entry level employees. - There is no work/life balance - Some employees have made sexist/racist remarks and no actions were taken to resolve the issue. - you will never hear "great job", "you did so well this month", "keep up the good work".... you will only ever hear how you need to correct your mistakes. - You will be over worked and wont be compensated for your efforts. - any "promotion" you get will actually be a lateral movement and will give you the run around on any kind of pay increase. My advice would be to look elsewhere. There are a lot of great companies that truly value their employees and reward them for making the company grow and succeed. This is not one of those places.

Pros

If you have a good local manager who will fight for you - then you're in good shape. Benefits aren't the worst. If you get a decent pay rate from the beginning, it's your best bet, but raises are possible if you do your job well. Open door policy from upper management is real, they're open to listen even if they don't act on the suggestions.

Cons

HR employees are in and out quickly, the ones I reached out to, were hard to get a hold of and rude when I eventually did. Company policies are not good, and you won't know until it's too late. Holiday's and days off are not the best or inline with the clients you work for. Recruiter will tell you anything, even if untrue, to get you to sign the paper and take the job. Remote work is not possible, when it should be.
