RED FLAG - AVOID

Pros

- Friendly design team - Multicultural employees

Cons

Oh god, where do I start: - The reputation of JRL and its branches like Midgard are one of lowest reputation in the market. - The best case scenario you will spend less than a year with them maybe 6 months. If you spent over a year then you must be a hero. - Directors are one of the catastrophic issues in this company. They need to be tamed so badly. - Very poor architects team called MDS referring to Midgard. - You can't exert your opinion here. Absolute dictatorship place. - Slave driving type of environment. Finally, pretty sure if anyone in the senior management from JRL/ Midgard is reading this they won't really care. As this's the core policy of the company .... not giving a single ''care''.

Long Hours, Cliquey people

Pros

Pay seems OK but when you divide down by the hours you have to work and the lack of other benefits, it's actually lower than most companies.

Cons

10 hour days, no flexibility on working times. A 50 hour weeks is 10-20% more than most other places. You need to factor that into what you get paid here, make sure it's 10-20% more, or don't bother going. 4 weeks holiday, most places give 5. No sick pay, if you need to take a day off sick you will not get paid. The IT you get provided with is shocking - most people buy their own laptops. No company car scheme. ( I expect this is because of the high staff turnover, they don't want the admin of that ) The owner MD is a psychopath, used to come to site once a week and sack people on the spot because they didn't have the right answers. This creates a culture of 'throwing you colleagues under the bus' in meetings. Huge blame culture. The staff turnover is big. Those who do end up sticking around there become 'cliquey'. They are all the same sort of person who are there mostly because they don't know any different, or the psychotic way of working actually suits them. This over time leads to a more concentrated pool of arseholes as the reasonable people leave. This company will eventually bite off more than it can chew. They run things like the industry did 30 years ago, which sometimes gives them an edge because they cut through red tape that others won't. They take a lot of risks however and it will eventually go wrong.
