Nepotism, toxicity and opacity outweigh the good
Pros
Sincere, loving colleagues, all keen to do well and do the best thing for the customer Fantastic travel benefits Small knit team Flexible working arrangements Work from home opportunities
Cons
Lack of work life balance Lots of draining overtime (paid depending on salary package level) Mental stress of work volume hard to justify for pay. People don't work here for the money but the fulfillment and lifestyle it offers Management apathetic and see staff as cash cows Overly structured in upper management - too many rules that inhibit company success Nepotism rules in upper management - no chance for growth no matter how capable someone is Bonuses at discretion of company and rarely paid as not making budgets year on year: they won't innovate or listen to staff ideas Constantly restructuring to make reasonable well performing staff redundant because management don't like them or they're not Japanese enough to understand - a toxic view that doesn't respect Australian law Heads of the company cannot communicate or manage people at all - only care about numbers and return on investment and will never consider their well-being.
