Pros

Flexible schedule. Only pro.

Cons

The amount of time to complete servicing a store was reduced. Former times were tight; new ones impossible to do a professional job. Orders sent improperly packed. Impossible service time reduced further trying to straighten out order. Stress levels increased to point of emotional meltdown. For my own mental health, it was time to leave!

Pros

You'll generally work weekdays within business hours.

Cons

I would make a bet that all those glowing, five star, It’s-All-Good! reviews for Jacent are prompted, maybe forced, by Jacent management. Not many actual Jacent merchandisers have much good to say about the company, their jobs, or their paychecks. Jacent is continually hiring merchandisers; so consider why the turnover in this position is so high. Merchandisers start at very close to minimum wage, and stay at that rate. The company, and very likely your immediate supervisor, will apply subtle pressure to get you to work without pay as much as possible. Jacent uses software to calculate how quickly they think you should do your job, based primarily on the no. of pieces of merchandise in a shipment. In the real world, the job doesn’t flow that magically - but when you put in to get paid for the actual time you worked, you’ll be prompted to adjust your time to meet their calculated “service time” or explain why you didn't make Jacnet’s time. Plus, if you accurately track all the unpaid time you put in on this job - emails, phone calls, text messages, (and the list goes on) ,- you’ll have a difficult time being fairly paid for all of it. My experience was you won’t get paid for all of it. And the best part? Jacent gives you a cell phone! It’s presented as a “tool” to help you do your job better and faster. But the tool seems to be geared primarily to help Jacent pay you less. The Jacent phone and the software they require you to use can track your location, mileage, time on location, and who knows what else. The true character of Jacent would steal bus fare from his or her 90-year-old grandmother when Granny was 10 miles from home. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule depending on your route.

Cons

1. No one answers emails or returns phone calls - not your manager, not your manager's manager, not even their manager, and Human Resources doesn't either when you look to them for help. No one. 2. No raises - they are all about training thinking this is why there is a turnover. The reality is the wages are the lowest in the industry for merchandisers but the demands are high. 3. They say you are getting a raise but months go by and you never see it. If you are lucky enough to get a raise and they tell you it's retroactive to a date you don't see the retroactive pay as they promised. 4. New hires are brought in at a higher rate of pay than existing, long time, hard working employees
