HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY

Pros

Good benefits IF you get approved for them and IF you do only as you're told, never try to make improvements, and are lucky enough not to be let go on a whim.

Cons

Don't waste your time. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUILD A CAREER HERE!!! They will not promote from within. Any job openings at mid- and upper-levels are outsourced to people who have likely never even heard of the Jupiter Entertainment or The Hive. For example, an employee who holds a pivotal role at the company and literally makes the thing tick has been passed up for promotion THREE TIMES!!! This employee now has 3 bosses above him/her all of which where brought in for those roles. THIS EMPLOYEE WAS NOT EVEN GIVEN A CHANCE DESPITE 10+ YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE BUILDING THE COMPANY!!! DO NOT BELIEVE what another review is telling you about how nice they are for buying lunch. That likely came from some bright-eyed recent college grad who literally doesn't know any better. I don't want a Panera sandwich, I want fair wages, some work/life balance, and opportunities for growth. I would never have wasted this much of my life on such a sorry excuse for a business, if I had known what a circus it is. Run. RUN. RUN!!!! People are as disposable as sandwich bags here. I hope they go out of business or burn to the ground. Or both.

Corrupt Management

Pros

Fun, tight-knit crews on set. Friendly co-workers once you get away from management,

Cons

Gossipy culture and corrupt management only interested in supporting/ advancing the careers of their closest friends. I gave my heart and soul to my job. I had just finished producing a lengthy season the network loved. I only ever had positive reviews from my supervisor, was never written up, never had any sort of employee performance plan due to not meeting expectations - and suddenly I was fired for "unsatisfactory job performance." When I asked for a more specific reason, HR mentioned a couple complaints by another employee who didn't like me. Even though I had literal proof she was lying, no one would hear it or take the time to research the claims. Extremely shady. A lawyer referral service in town told me I was far from the first person to call from Jupiter - and that the company is lucky to be in Tennessee where employers can get away with pretty much anything they want. Or else they'd be in trouble. If you decide to work here, be wary of standing up for yourself. They don't like that. You will just get walked all over, tossed aside like a piece of garbage and then replaced with someone's friend... despite being a dedicated employee with a proven track record.

Pros

You’ll get a paycheck. That’s… pretty much it. Basic benefits are technically offered, though they’re the lowest-tier options available and likely unaffordable given the subpar compensation.

Cons

This company thrives on an exploitative structure. The executive team? A collection of wildly inexperienced individuals who somehow failed upward into their roles. They know they’re in over their heads and that they’ll likely never hold a position like this again, so they cling to it for dear life, at the expense of everyone else. As a non-executive employee, you will be set up to fail from day one. Expect lots of fluffy talk about "support" and "teamwork" with absolutely no follow-through. Don’t count on being trained; leadership doesn’t know how to train because they don’t understand the basics of running a functional business. Accountability? Nonexistent. Decisions? Avoided at all costs. Support? Never appropriately staffed. You will absorb the fallout for their indecision and incompetence. Entry-level employees are underpaid, overworked, and discarded once burned out. Interns are exploited for free labor, and in return, you might get a Walmart cake pop and a pushy request to rate the company highly on a workplace survey—so they can keep pretending they’re one of Knoxville’s “Best Places to Work.” If you’re passionate about working in TV or media, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This is not the place to grow, learn, or be respected.
