Pros

Discounts on services/products; potential for bonuses

Cons

Upper-management only cares about money; upper-management is hypocritical and abuses power to criticize and demean salon managers/assistant salon managers; upper-management/owners think of themselves as almost god-like and foster a cult-like environment to have everyone blindly follow their plans; cultural-appropriation; does not know how to handle POC hair; not friendly to working moms; staff at every level is underpaid; managers/upper managers push staff to anxiety inducing performance goals; company culture is either worship them/their mission or be fired.

Pros

This salon is beautiful Clean and tidy Smells great with all the aromas

Cons

-Terrible workers whom say partially racist things about customers and co workers. -Bully each other and ridicule people’s bodies, hair and looks. -if you are not a rich Edina girl, you’re not accepted. -Staffing is IN COMPLETE denial that there is constant bullying going on. -staff are always accusing others of accidental booking errors. -terrible schedules and work life.

It is unfortunate to hear of your experience. We are constantly working to make sure we are living out our mission and values, which are the center of who we are at JUUT. At JUUT, we do not tolerate bullying or racism, nor do we hire based on where someone lives or their socioeconomic status. If this was your experience, we truly wish you would have reached out to Human Resources so that we could have addressed your concerns earlier and made sure you felt heard.

Pros

Great discount on product and services. That's about it.

Cons

Ridiculously expensive health insurance with high copays. Zero work/life balance due to scheduling. No PTO until after you've worked there a full year so if you want to plan a trip and gave to take time off, you're out money. Front desk staff hands down THE cattiest and meanest group of girls/women I have ever worked with. They gossip about EVERYONE: guests (often when the guest is standing nearby), other employees, management, even each other. Things were said that were absolutely cruel and borderline harassment. Terrible group of people who do not represent the Juut philosophy that's written on the entire wall of the salon! Management does nothing to stop this behavior. I didn't feel comfortable at all expressing my concerns as I was afraid I would be penalized. The idea of an open door policy is nonexistent. HR never followe up. Honestly that place is an eventual lawsuit waiting to happen. Not much room for growth beyond becoming an assistant manager or salon manager. Hourly pay is laughable considering what a money maker the company is.

We are sorry that this was your experience and wish that you would have spoken to us when you were with JUUT; we are grateful that you have spoken now. We are continually working to make sure we are representative of our mission and values that are integral to who we are as a company and we would like to address a few of your concerns. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, racism or the like. If there are concerns, we encourage staff members to connect with management and/or our internal & external HR experts for resolution. At JUUT we have some of the lowest premiums in the salon industry. As healthcare costs have risen, JUUT has absorbed these increases rather than passing the increased costs to employees, keeping staff members’ premiums stable. At JUUT, we are passionate about health care coverage and do this so that it remains as affordable as possible to our staff members. For any JUUT employee who works 30+ hours per week, PTO is accrued from day one. We are proud to offer this benefit because it is a rarity in the industry. Our core values of creativity, love and passion are what drives all our actions. Our goal is to share these with open hearts with every guest and team member that is at JUUT. We work at this every day to make it our reality.
