Pros

The snacks and beverages are good.

Cons

One of the most divided leadership teams I’ve ever seen. CEO actively avoids conflict and confrontation and because of that, has promoted managers who are ill-equipped and unqualified. Classic ‘land grabbing’, siloed departments with an ‘us and them’ mentality has run amok. Marketing is like a bull in a china shop and CEO too scared to correct that behavior. A notable leader in finance visited Juvo to speak to the team after securing our Series B and Marketing talked over him multiple times showing lack of respect which is typical and a constant common. Others on the leadership team have followed suit and act the same way while others passively avoid confrontation and are completely withdrawn. These issues are felt throughout the entire organization. Operations micromanages because they don’t know what they are doing and that lack of trust and avoidance of confrontation across all departments is the foundation of Juvo’s culture.

Pros

Lunch once a week, frequent leftover food from meetings, office location is easy to get to, some flexibility, 100% covered insurance for employee

Cons

Insurance only covered 50% for dependents, no 401k match, expected to always be available depending on your manager. CEO is so scared of conflict he never makes a decision and low morale is never talked about, even though HR department always thinks up new events no one wants to go to. If you are an engineer deciding whether to apply here, DON’T. The people on your team are there because they can’t go anywhere else. Everyone else leaves as soon as they see how things work at Juvo.

Pros

The work schedule used to be very flexible. Decent place for someone early in their career to get big title bumps.

Cons

Work/life balance here is rough. You will see people from all teams active on slack at night. You will be getting pinged and emailed at all hours of the day so it is really hard to disconnect from your job. Some people do not respect your time off or off hours and was becoming baked into the culture that you will be expected to be online almost all the time to some degree. It is a startup, but you can only use that excuse for toxic behavior for so long. Some the "perks" listed on their site are not true. For example, onsite yoga only occurred for a 3 week period during the holidays. The site positions it like that is a regularly occurring event.
