Pros

Smart and talented and professionally diverse workplace. Set high standards. C-Suite has big ambitions for growing the company.

Cons

The company's mission is very broad and imprecise. Poor talent retention.

Pros

Nice staff and good location. Interesting work with interesting clients. Open office concept, works for some not others, but I liked it.

Cons

Listen, I read the Glassdoor reviews prior to starting and thought that it couldn't be as bad as some of the negatives lead you to believe. But I have found that to be true. I do also agree that their internal HR team is adding the positive reviews and anytime someone in NYC says that the only negative is the commute, is lying to you. The office is less than 10 blocks from Grand Central and a few subway stops from Port Authority and Penn. My commute couldn't have been easier. HR/recruitment team will tell you anything to get you to sign on. Anything. If it sounds too good to be true or even close to that, just know it isn't true. This isn't a flashy start-up with a fun office like Google. The firm has lost a lot of major casework in recent months. There have been some layoffs and there is very little money here. A word of advice, negotiate yourself a bonus, or you will not receive one. The executives do get bonuses and will then look you in the eyes and tell you that business was down. Growth in salary and position is highly unlikely. But executives will get new responsibility with major bumps in salary while they dump more work on lower levels with no thought to compensation, and when it's brought up you are harassed for asking or possibly placed on PIP. When you approach the HR team, they are not able to assist, as they are powerless and unable or afraid to talk to executives. Remember, this is a family business and you are not a member of the family. I am not angry with the company and would not consider myself disgruntled, just realize there are other places to do this same work and get rewarded for it.

Looking worse every day

Pros

Really interesting work and brilliant people to work with. Staff and middle-management are extremely experienced, intelligent, and care about their coworkers.

Cons

Where to begin? The leadership seems to be intentionally tone deaf to their employees and middle management. The problems are multiplying by the day. 1) Morale has gotten so bad that they've asked HR to write fake reviews for Glassdoor, as you can tell from the other reviews on this page (no serious person who works in New York puts "commuting" as a con, it's a given). 2) All of the staff is overworked but leadership doesn't want to hire new people or pay attention to the concerns of their employees. Sometimes it seems like a concerted effort to make employees feel ignored and under-valued. 3) Compensation follows two tracks: if you're high up enough to threaten to quit, you can get a raise and a bonus. Otherwise, you do as you're told and get whatever they decide to give you.
