Pros

Start up culture with optimistic outlook. Young vibrant workforce (those that are left, at least).

Cons

Give you a false sense of transparency. They hire you for one job, and as soon as it's done, they let you go. They recruit aggressively, be very cognizant of the ebbs and flows of investor sentiment before leaving consistent work. Client service is going diminish immensely with their recent massive reduction in workforce.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The evolution from a custom event planning business to an online events marketplace resulted in the elimination of roles that had served Kapow well in its earlier stages but no longer aligned with the company’s strategic focus. To most effectively support our clients who use our online marketplace to book corporate events, we now have a centralized support team at headquarters. We also have Market Managers in 20 cities around the U.S. We appreciate your contributions to Kapow and wish you the best of luck in your future.

Pros

The people I worked with at Kapow were talented and caring. We worked really hard. We had fun serving our clients and got to work with some really impressive venues.

Cons

We were growing fast, then I guess the money started running out because all of a sudden everything changed. Employees started disappearing all over the country. Then we were "changing strategy" and more people disappeared. Then half the company was canned in January, even while the company is still hiring. "Partner" "loyalty" "family" were all words thrown around by the executives. But it only applies to them - the founders and their family members were all spared the layoffs. #welove as a company value was a total con.

Thank you for your feedback. Kapow recently made difficult decisions in order to focus solely on our strategic direction as an online events marketplace. We eliminated some roles that had served Kapow well in its earlier stages but were not aligned with our growth path, although not as many as you cited in your review. We greatly appreciate those who contributed to Kapow’s early growth and wish you much success in the future.

Pros

Was fun working with different companies on their various event's that they plan.

Cons

Leadership seems to be clueless as to how they should run a business effectively. Not only does it send a poor message to clients when they have to continually read about layoff's and plans to have "100% marketplace," but for those people who remain at the company, they have to be looking at other employment opportunities and biding their time while still at Kapow.
