Very Unprofessional Company

Pros

They are good at promising things that they never deliver on. Limited management.

Cons

Very unprofessional atmosphere. A human resource nightmare. Not a "do they right thing" company. Management team does not know what they are doing and is all over the place. Very cheap company who looks out for themselves and not their employees. Management style is very hands off and manage from a fearful environment instead of an encouraging one. They will rope you in under the guise that you will be making a certain amount and then when they fly you in to sign the papers--it drops to half of that number after 6 months and then goes to full commission. They cannot provide the product to sustain a full commission employee. Turnover rate is HIGH. Very "sue happy" company so beware before signing. Limited amount of training for a surgical sales job.

Pros

Working at offers a lot of valuable, transferable experience. There are many brilliant minds who work there, and the products are very innovative in concept. The CEO is a very brilliant man with a wealth of knowledge. Many friendly faces are all around as well. Hourly employees can take solace in a steady 7:00-3:30 schedule (30 minute lunch, two 10 minute breaks). As long as you are reliable and pay attention to your work, you will be safe.

Cons

The management style of the company is very cut-throat, and has a very dictatorial feel to it. Ethics are often overlooked in pursuit of cutting costs, and being that this the medical industry, this is quite disturbing. There is a massive communication gap that exists between the multiple branches of the business. Rather than any mitigation attempts, only anger and frustration results during meetings. Blame is often tossed from person to person. Employees are pitted against one another as a means of rising to the top. The concept of a salary is a means of further abuse, where an employee is overworked and underpaid. If your tasks are not completed, you can be expected to work the weekend or face verbal destruction in a morning meeting. Hourly employees can expect to never receive a review or pay increase, unless moved to salary. It is then called a "raise" which means no restriction on the amount of hours worked. Mathematically, you're often better off in an hourly position. The turnover rate is extremely high for this company. If someone was terminated, it was often public. Others typically left after enduring the last bit of humiliation, stress, or anger that one could contain.

Unhealthy Environment

Pros

Good people do exist there, they are just forced to throw others under the bus rather than owning mistakes in an attempt at self preservation due to fear of public admonishment by the CEO.

Cons

Backstabbing, dishonesty, talking behind others backs, CEO is not an honorable individual, he is most of the "-ists" that you can think of. Women are forced to wear high heels. If you are a young female, you will advance here, but be paid well under what you are really worth. The entire company will know before you do, if you are under performing, the gossip chain is strong here, management is the most guilty. Stand up for yourself if you must accept employment here, might get you fired, but at least you will maintain your self worth. You will be expected to live and breathe this company, even at the expense of your family and personal safety, with absolutely no appreciation or thank you.
