Pros
The team is very friendly, tightly knit, and fun to spend time with. We care about each other. Also, we care for pets! Every week you hear from customers who appreciate what we do. Inside the team, most of the team are pet owners (I'm an exception) and pet photos and stories are common. Also, the team is quite experienced and very competent. Most members of the team have previous experience at successful startups. The work - speaking as an engineer - is extremely flexible. Working partially remote is an option and working remote for a time a stretch is fine. Folks don't care about which or how many hours you work if you get your work done. I've also been able to grow my skill as an engineer. It's easy to get sound advice when you want it but nobody tries to micromanage you. Because the business is young, there's a large range to the work and everything you do matters substantially to the team and to the business. Lastly, the business works. It's energizing and fulfilling to watch it grow.
Cons
While the team is inclusive, it is not yet diverse. Due to startup growing pains, pharmacy operations has occasionally drafted engineers to provide support getting orders out the door. This is becoming less frequent. It's too early at the company to say for sure how the company will evolve. Opportunities, diversity, compensation, and culture, will all change as the company grows. I've answered the ratings as best I can right now.
