Unorganized and Out of Touch

Pros

If you are interested in the company because of its affiliation with fashion, then thats a plus for your resume, and its an inside look at all the BS that comes with the industry.

Cons

Leadership is completely under-qualified. There is no real path or concern for career development for anyone. They are known for playing the blame game, no one in leadership takes accountability. President is highly out of touch with industry standards, industry innovations, or how to stay competitive in this market. She takes an elitist approach to most things and isn't interested in letting leaders flourish and make decisions. She is probably the biggest micromanager to exist. HR is overwhelmed and understaffed HORRIBLY. The benefits package is not nearly as competitive as current times, so if you are looking for work/life balance or flexibility, the ability to work from home, this isn't your place. Hiring and firings are based on discriminatory decisions and diversity/inclusion is never considered when business decisions are made. There is no real focus on fashion here, so if you are looking to further your career in the fashion space and work at a high end/luxe level, this isn't the place for you. The environment holds a lot of tension, to sit in the open floor plan in dead silence (save the random playlist playing in the background) promotes a very uncomfortable feeling to work in everyday. It feels like everyday at work you are taking the SATs. Its a very reactive mentality, there are no well thought out plans for action.

Acknowledge the interns maybe?

Pros

Great client list, pretty well known in the industry, free food most of the time. Since no one talks to the interns, I only got to know 2 of the assistants there and I worked under one of them. She was pretty nice and really helpful. She made sure I was learning actual PR stuff and she was also pretty protective of her interns (it was 2 of us at the time) which is good. 90% of the PR stuff I know now is because of her. Side note: I love Layla, sweetest person ever.

Cons

Ugh! Where to start? Well, NO ONE acknowledges the interns except the assistants you work under. The other employees only talk to you when they need something and they're so fake about it. One time when they hired a new employee, the executive assistant introduced them to the whole office but didn't bother to introduce us; didn't bother to acknowledge that interns even existed. $8 a day is worse than slavery compared to the amount of work interns do. I honestly think the company would not survive without the interns. Sometimes the interns know more about the collections than the senior staff do. They talk a lot of crap about their clients and there are many times I think they have talked about me behind my back. The laptops the interns use are ancient and always have some sort of problem almost every day. The CEO also doesn't speak to interns, most I got was a "hi" and "thank you" when I opened the door for her. One time during the PR class, the professor basically asked her a question on our behalf and she addressed him the whole time, couldn't even look at us.

NYC Intern

Pros

Interning at Krupp has been an amazing experience. Interns carry out important tasks and functions, and supervisors genuinely care and want them to learn as much as possible while there. The work is hands on & fast paced - there's never a boring day. The Chelsea office is beautiful and an inviting place to work. During New York Fashion Week, interns are encouraged to help out before shows and then get to watch them! Krupp also offers all interns an in-house PR class taught by an outstanding and well-connected professor from Parsons. I would highly recommend this internship to any student or recent grad looking to gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience within both the PR and fashion industry.

Cons

A sizable amount of responsibility for $8 a day, but if you're serious about getting hired and moving up within the fashion PR world, you're not doing it to make money - the experience you get here and will use in the future is priceless.
