      Staff poorly led by poor MD and struggling to produce anything of quality

      Pros

      Started with a great opportunity and enormous potential to create truly inspiring learning products. There are some very talented staff that are good to work with.

      Cons

      Have never achieved product / market fit and continued to churn out over-marketed, subpar products. The MD is single biggest problem with the company - "games industry experience" translates to aggressive management that stifles creativity.

While we are pleased that you have found the team to be talented, I am disappointed that I could not provide an environment in which you could flourish. I strive to build a creative team environment to which I encourage everyone in the studio to contribute and I’m sorry that that did not live up to your expectations. I am extremely passionate about my studio and the industry and I am pleased to say that a couple of years on from your review, we are working on some amazing learning games with a happy and fulfilled team.

      Great team but toxic work environment...

      Got to work on some innovative and interesting projects, great team of developers and artist, so much potential...

      Cons

      The CEO! Never around and when he occasionally does make an appearance, the mood in the office always drops. Toxic, aggressive and bullish, he publicly undermines his management team by shouting at them in full view and earshot of everyone, threatens junior staff with "black marks" on HR records if their work displeases him, blames others for his own errors, constantly erodes confidence of senior staff through verbal abuse and psychological manipulation and openly admits to lie to company board and investors.

We are pleased about the positive experiences you had here at Kuato, however I am disappointed that I have not lived up to the high expectations I set for myself and that my team deserve, and I will carefully consider your comments in order to make changes to the way the company conducts itself. I take this kind of feedback very seriously and I want to foster a positive, open and encouraging environment at Kuato, so your feedback is welcome. However, I would also like to stress that in no way have we ever lied to our company board or investors, and to suggest as such is inaccurate and misleading to others reading your review.

      Toxic management with abusive behaviour

      a good team working on interesting projects

      Cons

      A very poor managing director with toxic behaviours and with limited understanding of the disciplines within the development process, which hindered the ideation and development of the games and also created unnecessary stress on the team. The toxic behaviours were likened to an abusive husband relationship with the team, by the team.
