      Too short-staffed to hire decent people

      You’re going to do fun, meaningful work.

      Cons

      Most of your co-workers will be great. But, enough of the employees are so incompetent and/or abrasive that it makes getting through the day truly challenging. Middle-management has no idea how to address interpersonal issues and, because pay is crap and hours are bad, they’re way too short staffed to fire people who cause trouble or even put lives in danger.

      great residents, good benefits package for the position

      No clear direction from upper management, high turnover, low morale, fraternizing between managers and particular staff, small raises and very little appreciation for hard working direct care workers

      LADD works for me

      Pros

      LADD does a really nice job caring about its employees. They don't call you and email you when you are off. Also, the supervisors all know, "family is first," which I have grown to really value. It means if something happens and you need flexibility, it is granted. Also, LADD takes its mission very seriously. They just won an award from the United Nations for their disability service innovation and they are constantly figuring out how to do things better. They also host a very cool film festival and give all their staff free tickets. It is a great place to work with great people and the people supported are incredible.

      Cons

      LADD's IT infrastructure needs improvement. Also, I think there could be less meetings.
