A stepping stone to a real career - lack of competitive pay means no real careers here
Pros
Good / Fun Environment Yearly Parties Nice people Ability to learn from a lot of different situations Certification reimbursement Ability to view a lot of different clients internal IT solutions Decent equipment to do your job (backpack, laptop, accessories,) Company phone that you can use for personal use
Cons
This is NOT a place for a career, simply a good thing to put on your resume. You will not be able to make a competitive salary here, no matter how long you stay, or how hard you work. Management is out of touch. Management is almost non-existent in the sense that no one internally has titles. Pay is NOT competitive, raises are small as well as the bonuses. Management does not have good information flow/communication skills, so you hear conflicting things from managers. The "1 on 1" weekly meetings felt like a waste of time, and my "manager" (if you could call him that. I talked to him once a week for 10 minutes) really didn't seem to care about any of the issue I brought up. There is a perpetual state of "new" employees. The turnover is extremely high for a company this small in this industry. In the time I worked there (1.5~ years), I saw 10-12 employees come and go. They claim every employee leaves for "new opportunities" when they are really all leaving because of the pay. The mileage reimbursement they offer is sort of a lie. They only offer to reimburse you after 40 miles a day. So if you drive 45, you only get reimbursed for 5 miles. The 401k match is also kind of misleading. They will match 1/2 your 401k contributions, but will only allow you to get that match in full if you stay at the company for 5 years. Anyone smart will not stay here for that long. A few long-term employees seem to have the final say on all projects, and are unwilling to learn new technology or take in new ideas. Zero accountability or performance indicators. Many employees were lazy, while some worked extremely hard. The management couldn't tell who was doing what. Hard work is not rewarded, and laziness is not taken care of.
