Steer clear of this dysfunctional place

Pros

Good exposure to some of the best brand names in the business, riding on former reputation

Cons

This place is falling apart now that the founding partner has stepped back. Everything that was successful has now been destroyed through their incompetence and terrible management skills, so what’s left is dysfunctional chaos. Where to start? - Managers are micromanaging control freaks who are incapable of making a decision yet have zero trust in employees, particularly at senior/management level. - Boss suffers from a personality disorder and I have seen so many talented people driven away by her emotional abuse, toxic harassment and manipulation — playing favourites, constantly telling people they are worthless, pitting employees against one another, etc. - Due to insecurities and lack of decisiveness, boss has a habit of redesigning projects from scratch at every stage of submission, forcing designers and PMs to be stuck in an endless hellish feedback loop of revisions with no end in sight. The amount of abortive work has to be seen to be believed. - A complete lack of structure, workflow or communication makes it impossible to do your job (or even understand your job scope), yet you’ll be blamed when things go wrong. - No career advancement as they don’t believe in job positions — another way of saying they can’t be bothered to figure out their management structure. - Employees are treated with suspicion and micromanaged like children. Forgot to finger scan on your way out? They will actually check the CCTV footage. You’ll also be fined for being late and having a messy desk. It’s not surprising that employee morale is at an all-time low and turnover is through the roof.

Pros

- Most likely to offer you the salary you want - High profile projects, 5/6 stars hotels - Great for portfolio - Lady Boss seems friendly and pretty generous - Lady Boss is very critical of details, High learning curve - Diverse culture and friendly colleagues - Good Central location with access to bus stops and MRT and many food options - If you don't need personal or family time, this is for you

Cons

- Will offer you the salary you want because hard to hire new staffs due to high turnover rate and very picky/demanding - High profile projects that are never ending. Always redoing within impossible deadlines. Be prepared to spend your year there clearing past jobs. There can be more than 10 revisions in one area. When it comes to revisions, it's not minor. Can be redoing back renderings eventhough it's past Documentation stage. 10 weeks timelines suddenly crash into 1 week rush. Hence, OT till past midnight consecutively. You probably won't see the finished project. - Always asking team leaders to check for manhours but don't see a problem when team members are clocking way more than 12hrs a day due to crazy deadlines. Will blame on "poor time management" when it should be boss/leaders' poor project management - Lady Boss is very fickle-minded. Says A to designer A, B to designer B, C to designer C. No point recording minutes because the design will change again and designers will get blamed for "forgetting". Micro management in designing - every tiny detail needs to be approved by Lady Boss eventhough she says no need. Also, double job getting other directors to comment since she has final say in everything. Everyday spent trying to book and wait for meeting slot. - Some designers design blindly through SKP and leave bad and missing details for the next designer to resolve for them. IDs are asked to do FFE but screw up big time as well since lack of material and documentation knowledge. - Good staff leave due to health issues and total burnt out - Some of the long-time staffs may seem nice, but be wary. They speak differently of you when they're alone with Boss. Walking CCTVs. - You take over the blame and shame once you leave the company or on leave. All project mistakes will be directed to you

Pros

Toilet seats are high tech Colleagues were nice (they all left too as well)

Cons

No new staff stays longer that 1 year here. Most new staffs resigned within weeks. The whole management team backstabs everyone, it's almost they bring hell to the office on a daily basis. We were force to stayback and OT till 2-3 AM, everyday is a rush, there are no down period. Endless changes and variation of designs must be produced, after they see your 1st work, they will keep asking you for changes , even if its at midnight, they expect the changes to be done before office opens in the morning. The management keeps everything in the dark, exactly what a extremely toxic workplace will practice, the whole team of so called management are heartless people who doesn't care of the mental health and wellbeing of anyone. Believe me when I say this, even if they were to pay me 20K a month to work here, it is NOT WORTH the money at all for the amount of mental torture/ politics and backstabbing that is happening. Staffs are leaving every other week and they will re-hire new staffs to pick up all the slacks and they expect you to perform as good as those senior staffs almost immediately.
