Pros

Was a great place to work until the merger with Red Energy. The consultants are great to banter with, they're really nice. Systems are fairly easy to use.

Cons

After moving Lumo and Red staff in to the new building the business did what they could to get rid of the higher paid Lumo staff by creating redundancies, changing KPIs and showing outright favouritism to Red Energy staff. Don't bother working here if you have kids. You are the worst person in the world for taking a day off to look after your sick child. They will try and brainwash you to think there's no better place to work so it's pointless to seek outside opportunities.

Change is a constant

Pros

The culture in the past was terrific and some of the leaders you work with are amazing.

Cons

Since acquired by Snowy hydro, our culture has gone down hill. We are being merged with Red Energy and they have values but don't live them, are putting people in roles they don't want to encourage them to leave and don't have a great culture to work in unless you're part of the 'in' crowd. If you don't mind this, or constant change that isn't effectively managed, it's a great place to work.

Pros

Was a lot of fun in Ops back 5 years ago. An EGM who managed to corral a disparate group of people. Despite the chaos, so many well intentioned, hard working people. We finally get to a good spot and in 2014 we were sold to snowy.

Cons

Red and lumo are now being integrated into the one retail group. Culturally they are disparate organisations and this has resulted in a lot of pain for some people and a high rate of attrition. Will be interesting to see how this goes.
