Pros

High profile arts clients, beautiful office. If you land in the right department, you may be rewarded. As of this writing, good benefits are still in place, such as summer Fridays and the week off between Christmas and New Year's. Leaving out top management, the staff is for the most part a really smart and nice group of people.

Cons

Ego-driven management refuses to acknowledge systemic problems. The appearance of work is rewarded more than actual work, and there is zero accountability. The Managing Director plays favorites and cannot handle differences of opinion. There is no such thing as confidentiality here, so be careful. LaPlaca Cohen was once a great place to work, and very low turnover was the proof. Now the company is bleeding employees; five have left in the first half of 2016 alone. Word to the wise: negotiate the biggest salary you can up front, because raises are not forthcoming, and neither are promotions.

I loved my team but not the higher ups

Pros

There are pretty good benefits, including Summer Friday's, an education reimbursement, PTO. The office is also so nice since it was designed by a great interior designer. Working with well-known clients was also great for the most part.

Cons

The management was so poor--nobody knew anything because everything was just hidden and nothing was transparent. Nobody knew one of the higher ups was leaving until the day of. Nobody knew people were getting laid off until much later--often those who were getting laid off had to break the news to the rest of their teams. It also did not help that the CEO was very pushy and arrogant and he would have these random tamper tantrums if he was in a bad mood. Poor management and lack of respect really did not motivate a lot of people to do a good job or even stay loyal to the company. One former coworker even said that "nobody actually wanted to work here. We're all just trying to go someplace better."

Pros

Work with clients doing projects you would never get anyplace else. High level of creativity.

Cons

Conservative clients, managing their expectations is a challenge.
