Cons

I worked at this company for 5 months, and I must say that my experience was quite disappointing. Within the first 3 months my co-worker who was on-boarded with me was fired. One major issue I noticed was the high turnover rate, with at least five people occupying both positions in the past 4-5 years. It became clear that the management lacked the necessary skills to effectively facilitate, train, and manage individuals. Despite my short tenure, I observed the management's persistent struggle in utilizing the technology, design, and email programs they were subscribed to, and lack of knowledge managing the company website. Additionally, there was a consistent pattern of assigning me design work without direction, and only after completing those tasks I was let go when there were no upcoming projects. To make matters worse, after firing said colleague, I was forced to take on an additional role for two months without any extra compensation. Their excuse for terminating me was centered around alleged customer service deficiencies and my absence from events. However, I had a legitimate reason for missing one event as I was on medication and later fell ill with a fever. Privacy invasion was also a concern at this company, as they would read work emails and even print them out to create unnecessary office drama. Additionally, they made inappropriate comments about my office attire on multiple occasions, despite it being suitable for the workplace. Another frustrating aspect was the resistance to updating or changing processes within the organization. They displayed a fear that automation would confuse older attorneys, hindering progress for the company. Moreover, they covertly used coworkers as informants, creating an environment of distrust. What bothered me the most was their inability to handle criticism while openly criticizing their own superiors. They would often complain about their boss's tardiness in completing tasks, and we would be included in these conversations. Furthermore, they asked unnecessary and intrusive questions without providing a clear purpose behind them. In terms of work responsibilities, they treated me as their secretary , expecting me to remember their schedule and identify incoming visitors due to my proximity to the entrance. They even implemented an imaginary probation period, despite already providing benefits, which they claimed was meant to evaluate my progress. However, since it wasn't sales-related, it lacked meaningful measurement. If you're seeking a workplace with a lack of direction and decency, this company would be a perfect fit. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it based on my personal experience.
