      Pros

      The pay is more than fair, and my colleagues sometimes go above and beyond to provide support whenever I need it.

      Cons

      This company is extremely toxic, with empty promises and no follow-through. If you experience any form of unfair treatment at work, don't waste your time with the inept HR department. Instead, speak up with others who can help you and raise a group complaint. However, be warned that they may target you, so don't give them any ammunition to use against you by being cautious about what you post on social media, as they may be watching your every move.

      Catholic University that has sadly lost its way

      Pros

      Nice location, dedicated staff (academic and support), lovely students

      Cons

      If you even dare to stand up to management, your career is over. It never used to be like that. The academy used to welcome voices of dissent. And if you are from the BAME community, forget about advancing your career - there is a shocking lack of diversity across the university. Such a shame that a once-proud institution with a Catholic heritage has been taken over by power-hungry micro-managers, who don't care about their students.

      FE or HE?

      Pros

      Lovely people - and small enough so that you can get to know them. Nice out-of-town campus (but with lack of parking).

      Cons

      New management seems intent on working staff into the ground - there are so many people on p/t contracts that it seems more like FE than HE.
