Pros

Hours good, flexibility to come and go, a few good men/women who are great

Cons

How long can this list be? Shadiness, insecurity within the ranks, salaries low if you are not a favorite, employee’s not appreciated. Would love to list much more, but who the hell cares?

Pros

The substance of the work is wonderful and easy to feel passionate about and fulfilled by. Hours are very reasonable and the office is family-friendly. If you like an unstructured environment, this is an office for you. A lot of friendships form among staff. Senior management have been at the organization a long time and with that comes a depth of experience and a lot of great knowledge that I don't think you'd find in other organizations working on these issues. The organization is very open to promoting within, but only when there is an opening, and those are few and far between given the small staff size. Good vacation package.

Cons

The downside of senior management that have been at the organization for 20+ to 30+ years (some for their entire careers) is that change can be difficult. The organization really struggles with effective management. HR is outsourced, which doesn't help either. There have been some serious personnel and disciplinary issues that have been swept under the rug. he organization is very open to promoting within, but only when there is an opening, and those are few and far between given the small staff size. Compensation is inconsistent (some staff are overpaid, some are underpaid). There aren't may perks (for example, no free coffee provided by the office).
