Pros

still many good ICs, but management is turning over too fast to have any semblance of a culture. good if you are on a favored team/project by leadership, otherwise you will just be blamed whenever those teams break things

Cons

leadership is enamored with AI buzzwords but doesn't really know how to adopt effectively. Eng culture has changed from performance/outcome based to one of shameless self-promotion and pishing AI slop without any individual accountability for output quality. It's becoming a race for individuals to automate so they won't be the ones fired, rather than building AI tooling together. AI tools are the future, clearly, but eng leadership is losing the plot.

Thank you for taking the time to share this review, and for your 8 years at Life360. The pace of change in our engineering organization has been fast, and we know that management continuity matters, so does clarity on AI tooling strategy. Reach out to me if you’re open to it. I'm excited to spend time talking through our strategy and hearing your concerns. I’d welcome the chance to hear more directly from you. - Justin, CTO

Pros

Really enjoying my time here so far. Everyone is super friendly and there's basically zero tech bro energy which is a huge plus coming from my last company. WFH is an awesome perk and people genuinely respect work life balance. The team is also very AI forward - they encourage developers to learn AI workflows and actually give us dedicated time to do it. The culture and the people make it a great place to work.

Cons

If you don't enjoy being in a fully remote/WFH environment, this might not be the best fit for you. Also, most of the devs are senior engineers or above, so if you're early in your career there's not a ton of other juniors around you.
