Pros

Made to seem like a fantastic opportunity

Cons

No follow through on “opportunities”. Looking to get away with paying you the least amount possible, if you’re lucky enough to actually get paid. The one benefit of the salary pay was that you didn’t have to deal with the log in system that others struggle to actually have tracked and paid; downside of salary, they’ll work you 65 hours/week so you make less than any store associate by a landslide. Personal phone and info was sent out on product replacement packages, no company phone, expect you to use your own to apologize to guests and remedy situations. No bank account, managers get change from their own personal bank (and even Personal change jars so transactions can be made). Absolutely the worst job I’ve ever had and i wouldn’t recommend this company to ANYONE (not guests, not employment seekers). Absolute monstrosity to Van Goghs work. No organization, hands are tied to do anything about it.

Pros

- You'll meet a lot of great people because the nature of the company draws in artists of all types - The starting pay is high, but it's because they seem to be aware of just how dysfunctional the company is, and is likely to make up for that

Cons

- 1 HR person for a company of presumably over 1,000 people, with a reputation for victim blaming employees who come forth with sexual harassment allegations - No direction on long-term prospects for the company, and no clue how to actually implement change of artists at each venue - Horrendously low hours for hourly staff due to poorly-planned hiring structure at the start of each venue opening, resulting in consistent massive turnover - Terrible marketing team that doesn't try to execute any real strategy except constantly announcing "extensions" to exhibits - Producers don't listen to simple ideas proposed by local management and staff and will never follow through - Accounts Payable team takes at least 2 weeks to pay vendors, making them pretty angry and thus do not want to work with the company - COO acknowledged wage theft is occurring due to not following local ordinances, and proceeded to do nothing about it after learning of the matter - The people hired to lead are incapable of leading. This is true of multiple locations

Pros

Good Pay, Clock in early or late, Amazingly kind coworkers

Cons

Venue Management is near incompetent. Only after intense conversation between associates and national level management were any major concerns addressed. Instead of firing workers, people were given zero hours for weeks on end with no news of if or when they would be needed again. Management was made aware of Pittsburgh Paid Leave Act and underpaid multiple folks for hours owed. Complete lack of communication and transparency as well as any accountability. Broken promises include paid breaks, guaranteed 32 hours a week, notice of reduced hours, security to walk employees to the parking lot at night, accessible parking during winter, safe and welcoming environment for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ workers. Valet workers and security have sexually harassed workers and refused to wear masks. Security was replaced at one point, only for us to be told we will no longer have security. This company does not care about its workers and would rather see its venue empty than take its workers suggestions seriously. Do not work here if you don't want to be a depressed mess with major job insecurity.
