Pros

Lincoln gives its employees great work life balance and flexibility to work from home. They have great benefits and vacation time that starts on day 1. There is a strong culture of investing in people as many leaders and higher level individual contributors once started as entry positions in the company and were developed and promoted. The company values diversity and inclusion with comprehensive policies, business resource groups, multicultural awareness committees and trainings. It’s an especially great place to work for LGBTQ individuals.

Cons

Some entry level operations positions have less flexibility and require heavily structured scheduled to ensure productivity.

Pros

Benefit package is good. The AIP is nice most of the time. DE&I groups are amazing and do a lot of good for the company and community

Cons

No respect for work life balance. Won't hire enough people to do the work and expect you to just stay until its done because you are salary (and then get upset when you burn out). Constantly asking for donations for various charities but aren't willing to pay salaries at market value. Spent thousands of dollars to send senior leadership to a conference in Boston in October and then told us that we had no money in the budget for overtime to support the claims volume, and then there was no budget for merit increases (1%). THEN they layoff more than 500 people. SLT send out pictures of their various trips and vacations, again spending thousands, but the actual front line staff are struggling. Their priorities are not where they should be.

Pros

The company overall is amazing. Great benefits, competitive pay.

Cons

Group Protection department and specifically the Short-Term disablity area is extremely disappointing. Senior management does not care about or value the employees wellbeing, time or effort that is put into these claims. They don't care about the fact that each examiner has almost 200 claimants. They expect you to work as if you are in a call center and answer every phone call which is literally impossible. The turnover rate is ridiculous as they have no way to keep new employees beyond 6 months after their training ends. Several managers have quit within the last 4 months alone. LFG overall is a great company, if you can get in anywhere else besides short term disability you'll be in a good place.
