Pros

The school is brand new and has some interactive technology for students. Most of the staff members are a pleasure to work with and the students, in spite of their challenges, are adored by everyone.

Cons

This school has several major problems working against it's ability to be successful. The health and safety of staff is not a priority at this school. Considering there is a high likelihood of injury, working with the population this school serves, injuries are dealt with a lackadaisical attitude. The school does not have a full-time nurse on staff to treat student or staff injuries, which are relatively frequent. Also, when an injury occurs, staff members are offered sub par medical assistance from urgent care centers that are more concerned with clearing staff to return to work than treating their injuries. The pay is also not commensurate with experience or schooling. But most importantly, the management of the school lacks leadership and offers no real training in any of the skills necessary to effectively instruct students. Due to these issues, staff members, both teachers and educational assistants, have been leaving this school with a high rate of turnover.

Pros

Reimburse for any materials you buy for your classroom, there are providers that really do care about the students wellbeing.

Cons

Administration is shady and they become nasty when you speak up or decide to leave.

Pros

There is a great diversity among the individuals. You have low level and very high level functioning individuals.

Cons

The organization has been hiring people who don't have enough compassion for the individuals. The staff that care are worked so hard, trying to make sure the individuals get their needs met; however, they are doing double or triple duty because the other staff are apathetic and non responsive to the needs of the individuals. Management lets (negative) environments continue until there is a situation that has gotten so far out of hand. This means there is upheaval for the individuals (who we know flourish best with stable, consistency).
