Poor management, no organization or process

Pros

Many of the people who work there are trying very hard to do the right thing. There is a lot of laughter in the office, most of the time. Jr. employees have a great working relationship with each other.

Cons

Zero process. Project management is a joke - unless you like managing all projects via email and sitting in meetings all day. Don't expect there to be anyone to mentor you or guide you. Don't expect to have a manageable work load. You're on your own, sink or swim. And when you sink expect to get full blame and no chance to explain yourself.

Pros

Some good people remaining but not much.

Cons

No employee matching 401K and benefits are lacking. Upper management is out of touch with what is happening on the ground and lets a few people who are terrible managers dictate the culture and workload. There is no account management, the client calls the shots, workload is not properly assessed, communication is lacking, work life balance is non-existent, and there is no investment in the team structure. There are few key figures at the top who dictates the workload and everyone is expected to follow along. People are burned out and turnover is high. There was a mass layoff at the beginning of the year and new people were e brought on. This could've been an opportunity to start fresh as a team but that is not a priority. Instead they take advantage of the new people not knowing better and when they do call out what is apparently wrong and needs to change, they are shot down.

Pros

Very good at self promotion -- as reflected on their site and steady use of social media and consistent posting on content. The creative staff are good overall with a few stand outs in the areas of brand design and group creative leadership. The "transformation" content creates a gravitation to the brand and is a valuable asset. The staff is full of smart, nice people.

Cons

Unfortunately, the company is a turnstile of turnover. Constant recruiting for new "bodies" to do the fast-paced, grinding work pace required by management pressure placed on healthy profit margins. The mid-to lower level staff pay the price with little let-up in the grind, or a "letting go" of them -- sometimes in multiples -- when the cyclical project workload inevitably ebbs. Also, a revolving door of creative mid-mangers or directors that are swept into the shiny, well-groomed, environment only to be let go 6 mos - 16 mos later. Instead of developing employees, a trade in for a new model is the approach. Woefully behind in digital capability. Most of the digital capability is purchased via freelancers and/or outside partner firms -- not grown within. Oddly, non-transformational for company that creates and executes brand transformation.
