Pros

- not working here anymore - no other pros | awful experience and I'm happy I'm no longer here

Cons

- extreme amount of favoritism | your ability to move up is not based on performance but on how much your manager likes you personally - very uncaring, disrespectful, and unappreciative management and higher-ups within the company. Managers are never held accountable for their treatment of team members - HR is cold, not-people oriented - mediocre support and training - small team of less than 50 people but there was no true positive rapport throughout the company - very toxic, mean girls atmosphere that begins with management - terrible communication | little to no notice regarding changes in policy, procedure/etc. You found out when you did something wrong - it's not about your hard work here. They'll do everything in their power to try and break you down emotionally and mentally when you bring valid concerns to them. - Not a company that takes constructive criticism seriously at all. They only like "positive" "I'd do anything for this company!" type of feedback. - Does not treat hardworking, kind-hearted people like human beings, only disposables. - Extremely disrespectful and sneaky in terms of communication and responses to valid workplace concerns - Does not take valid feedback regarding manufacturing and product issues. It's all about sales, sales, sales. - The only relatively "fun" part of working here was seeing the prints ahead of time and 90% of the time they were lackluster and boring. Did not listen to many thoughts/feedback on prints either. - Reminded me a lot of high school. Sad because you'd think a predominately female-led company would be fairly positive but I hated working here. Cliquey, sneaky, extreme favoritism - Fake concern: My dog died and, after the initial announcement, no one cared to check on me though there were always congratulations to lighter-skinned folks on a new house, a new position, new marriage, anything of the sort. - Ditto on there being no real diversity

Pros

I met some amazing people while working at Little Sleepies, some that I will remain connected to for life. I’m grateful for the authentic relationships formed with genuine people.

Cons

The buck stops at amazing co-workers. I was one of the longest standing employees at Little Sleepies before leaving. Not only was I the only employee there beyond three years that had not been promoted once, I also watched as several employees who joined the team after I did were promoted once or twice. None of the promotions were minorities because the promotion criteria is extremely biased. Little Sleepies is highly focused on sales and not at all focused on customer or employee experience. After 3 years of providing extremely high-volume support and volunteering for other individual tasks, I didn’t even earn $20 an hour. The company culture is very accepting and encouraging of overworking customer-facing employees, causing extreme burnout. Leadership also forces customer-facing employees to consistently lie about product quality and availability, which negatively impacts employee morale. The CEO is very disconnected from the team, only meeting with the entire company once a month and otherwise having very little interaction with “the little guys.” The environment is very cliquey, and if you’re a Swiftie, you’ll fit right in. I’ve honestly never met people so obsessed with a celebrity in my life. I’m not the only person who found this odd, because someone anonymously asked if people could chill on the Taylor Swift obsessiveness during a company Q&A. Speaking of which, the option to give anonymous feedback was rescinded because Little Sleepies doesn’t really want people asking tough questions that they won’t answer anyway. There were several related to morale and no effort made to improve it. HR is not authentic in her approach to concerns or grievances. She pretends to care and then “shares with leadership” with zero follow up. It took working for another children focused brand that really cares about their customers and employees for me to realize that Little Sleepies’ expectation that employees lie to customers is immoral, and the company will work you to for what is nowhere near a living wage in a toxic environment.
