Pros

Drinks on a Friday evening

Cons

If you don't generate additional clients for livewire, you will be treated drastically differently than typical employees, this an ugly method for retaining talent. They had no HR whatsoever in 2015, couldn't pay their contractors on time, and ultimately, you will seriously question what their directors do or perform daily. Losing clients such as BMO, Tangerine, or Magna, will result in an office folding. Please note that livewire hires some of their client's employees, and I'm not sure if this normal, a conflict of interest, or a kickback situation. If you are an employee, please contact a labour lawyer if livewire cancels a contact, small companies are notorious for trying to go rogue when attempting to cancel and adjust contracts or employment. Don't waste your time on an organization that doesn't invest in you seriously, and finally, they offer next to nothing in benefits. This is in essence the culture of the company.

As a communications company, we pride ourselves on open and honest communication and invest heavily in our employee culture. The happiness and safety of our employees is our number one priority. Social gatherings (including occasional drinks with colleagues) are always optional, and it’s unfortunate that they were a negative experience for you. Livewire has an HR department and abides by the standards of its employee handbook that all staff read and sign. We regret that you did not inform us of your concerns while working with us. We are always willing to continue the conversation and would be happy to chat with you further about your concerns. Thank you for taking the time to post a review.

Pros

After working for several companies I find working at Livewire to be a refreshing change of pace. Everyone seems to genuinely like each other the leadership team cares about the well-being of team members. The holistic approach to creating communication strategies and execution plans (via a partnership between strategists, creatives and digital SME's) makes the work we do for clients very valuable.

Cons

I have only been with the agency for a little while but I cannot think of any "cons."
