Pros

Excellent overtime rates for very little work. Early shifts let you beat the traffic. Benefits system improves upon poor salary

Cons

Working under managers that are actively job seeking in front of new starters. Managers actively shopping online and using social media during the work day. Training was non existent, being given a box of samples, a microscope and some information booklets but no actual input from line manager or experienced staff does not constitute training. No responsibility given (or taken) the blame for anything is always passed on. Lots of laziness within the core staff, with the slackers being covered by genuine hard workers. Staff car parking extremely limited. Business is run like a school and low level staff are treated like children. Poor quality uniform for the long hours it is worn for.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are pleased to hear you enjoy the benefit of our flexible working system at Lucion, and the trust we place in our individuals when utilising overtime. We are sorry to hear you felt your training was non-existent. We have changed up our training structure in response to our teams’ feedback: introducing a mentor system and a new communication platform for colleagues to share knowledge as they learn the ropes. With a new management structure in place, we have also worked hard on our communications practices and our internal culture with our team members. We want every team member to not only feel valued whilst working at Lucion but to enjoy their experience. We welcome any further feedback you may have. Should you want to discuss any further issues, please do not hesitate to get in touch with either your manager or with our Communications Director, Lucy Armstrong.

Pros

My manager is clueless so I can clock enough overtime to make up for the diabolical wages!

Cons

Where to start? I don't trust my current manager as I've witnessed her lie, cheat and manipulate higher management to get her own way. No one feels confident in speaking out about it as she's very clever and we've all seen how she operates! Quite a few good staff members have gone due to the seeds she has planted! Workload is a joke, we're expected to do a full days work in half a day then move department and do the same again! I've never worked anywhere like this, at least 80% of the workforce are trying to leave, myself included! Lucion do a good job of making us feel trapped by taking over inflated training costs from the staff if they leave so we're all stuck for another couple of years at least!

I want to start by thanking you for taking the time to submit your review of Lucion. It is important to me that you have your say. However, you currently don’t recommend Lucion, and have a “negative outlook” on our company, so you’re clearly very unhappy at Lucion and/or in your job. First I want to make sure that you have raised your issues internally via one of our feedback channels. These include multiple avenues outlined below: Appraisals - your one to one meeting with your manager, at a frequency you get to specify to help you assess where you are in your career journey. Take Care Be Aware Representatives - As you will be aware from our Being Lucion communications channel, you have a local TCBA representative who is there to listen to any grievances you have and represent these feelings anonymously to our Leadership Team. They are trained in mental health awareness, can assist with any well being issues personally or within the team. HR - Anyone can speak to us confidentially about any issues they may be having relating to work or home life. Whilst I appreciate you may feel unable to currently speak to your manager, without communicating to us directly, your situation will be unlikely to change, so I do urge you to use the above mediums. Your review is very personal and so I would also encourage you to make contact with either myself or Katherine Bridle (HR Manager), via email, chat or phone call, to discuss your issues so we can together find a solution to your situation. I stress that if you do reach out to me or Katherine, your comments will be completely confidential and will have no bearing on your progress within Lucion, but any information you can give us may go a long way to improving your working life. I appreciate your desire to leave Lucion, and I get it, as it doesn’t sound like we are the right fit. Lucion doesn’t suit everyone, and everyone deserves to be happy where they work. You feel you are currently not able to leave due to the costs associated with exiting the organisation. If this is the case, it is because we have invested in you and your career, through training and development. Our team are the most skilled in the industry. We invest into our staff as our clients come to us for the level of skills, competency and qualifications we offer. Unfortunately we have to protect our company from previous cases of individuals capitalising on our free training and then leaving. This is explained prior to signing any contracts. As you will have recently seen we often recognise individuals and teams for a job well done, and for those who go above and beyond within your team, career developments have been offered and accepted. Anyone who wants to develop their careers at Lucion has an equal opportunity to do so. To summarise, I hope you have taken the many opportunities we offer internally to raise your issues and make positive change happen. If you have done so, and no change has happened, please report this to me. If you’re still unhappy, I hope you find an alternative opportunity that is a better fit for you. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review and I hope to hear from you soon. Lucy

Pros

- The Lucion group has strong branding - Work/life balance wasn't bad

Cons

Lucion Group seemingly bought Delta Simons with no idea on how a Geo-environmental company actually operated and were unaware seemingly, that all the value was in their staff, specifically senior staff who have all the knowledge, contacts and experience to deliver bespoke/tailored services to a diverse client base. The Geoenvironmental division of Delta Simons was maybe 100 staff in 2022 and I would estimate there is maybe 20 left now i.e. they (Lucion) have run it into the ground in less than 2 years after building up since 1993. Congrats! If you (the Senior Leadership Team) are reading this you need to ask yourselves some serious questions. Caveat. I was made redundant but I was paid to have the summer off and I got a job at a company that values you on more money so I'm not bitter at this but I am at what you did to a great company.
