Pros

the AEs and BDRs I worked with were incredibly nice and down-to-earth people. They also have some pretty cool branding.

Cons

oh where to start... i guess at the beginning. Onboarding was a complete joke. Sat in a couple meetings my first week and then was thrown into the fire. No proven best practices, no scripts, and a lot of of miscommunication of what they can/cannot offer to certain businesses made the job very hard at first. Sales enablement and training were absolutely useless. If I didn't come into this job with prior sales experience I would've sunk fast. They had a mass layoff in November '21 (right before the holidays) plus an even bigger one in March '22 which included myself (despite me being the 2nd highest performing BDR on the outbound team). And they have had 2 more mass layoffs since I left. They preached career growth in the interview but never gave the BDRs a concrete growth plan. HORRIFIC with their money. Shelled out hundreds of thousands of dollars on a billboard ad in Time Square and on a tattoo artist to sit at their booth at events. But can't afford to pay their people or invest in their product. Startups are inherently risky to join, but I see little upside with Lunchbox. The job will be difficult, communication will be lacking, pay will be low, and there will little to no opportunities to grow and be promoted. Oh, and they pay to have many reviews removed off of here and write many fake reviews themselves, so their current 3.3 rating is pretty lofty. TLDR: poor product, poor pay, no growth opportunities, lack of communication. The Titanic personified - everyone telling the passengers "everything is fine" while there is a giant hole in the ship and a countdown until it sinks.

Pros

Working for a company where the senior leadership works the hardest to ensure that we achieve success together is amazing. The pace is challenging. We move fast and break rules to achieve great things and if we miss the mark we work to quickly correct them. Having worked in the restaurant industry since I was 13 it is an honor to go to work for a company who stands by its mission to help restaurants every day.

Cons

This job is not for the faint of heart. Show up and get ready to work. The learning curve can be a bit challenging to navigate but the team is always there to help assist. Navigating a constantly changing landscape leads to a lot of projects all at once. Work life balance can be a bit tough but I have yet to come across a task where people weren’t willing to jump in and figure it out together.

Pros

Being in a startup allows me the opportunity to create culture and embrace the employee journey in a whole new way. At Lunchbox, it's refreshing to be a part of a team who embrace the mission of "helping the people that feed the world." I don't know about you, but I love food, entrepreneurship and a mission that a team is excited to stand for. We are a team of bright and bold personalities. We highlight folks, we celebrate our wins, we unlock opportunity, and we are always working hard to improve. If you are someone who likes strict policies, needs clear tasks and likes the 9-5 grind, this place is probably not a good fit for you. If you lead with a problem solving mindset, have a love of foot tech, and want to be a part of something amazing in the making, we should probably talk.

Cons

We are a fully remote company so finding innovative ways to stay connected can be tough.
