Senior management are dreadful

Pros

Wish I could think of some

Cons

Since my time working for Lyphe, they made all the remote team working for the clinic redundant because they would not relocate to farnborough, then months after they done the same to dispensary green remote workers and pharmacy team. There are no incentives to relocate, and the option is ‘stay or leave’; however, they allow HR and some senior management to work remotely, funny that! They expect the redundant staff to work months before they are entitled to their pay so that they can train their replacements, which is just cruel. Then they constantly post their ‘praise the senior management’ Lyphe Matters to big themselves up & expect staff recently told they were being made redundant that they were expected to participate in ‘team building’ mornings. Today they post on LinkedIn that 13 people have joined Lyphe over the last 12 months, but failed to mention that over 15 have been made redundant, instantly dismissed or walked due to the daily abuse and pressure. Upper management treat everyone inferior and have obvious favourites, if your face does not fit it’s made pretty obvious; however, being a favourite gets you screamed, sworn and shouted at by them whenever they are under pressure, and blaming everyone for their errors. I have also never known somewhere where you are told by patients about the administration and redundancies, at least they show some respect that these things should be shared with us, unlike the upper management, who brushed the ‘leak’ about DG under the carpet until it suited them, despite it being on companies house!

Pros

Working from home and getting a laptop to work from along with some other equipment

Cons

I’m not sure where to start but in a whole, I would not recommend working for Lyphe. There is no room for progression, unless you happen to be someone’s favourite, then they might bump up your role. The team had to practically cry on a meeting to get a pay rise. Prior to that, there was no chance of getting a pay rise. The SMT are shady as hell and don’t have each-others back let alone the people below them. No professionalism in this company. No perks or benefits. They started introducing just a few because again, we were crying about it for ages! The staff retention is so poor but not surprising after mentioning the above. The SMT seem to think being ‘mean’ and ‘micro managing’ staff is the right way to keep staff in the business or being productive. They had very unrealistic expectations on top of that. It honestly could be great but unfortunately it is far from.

Pros

I met some great colleagues. The companies plan for business improvement sounds good.

Cons

There are absolutely no opportunities for career progression, and for this reason it felt like a dead-end job. My strong skillset including leadership, training and management was never recognised or utilised, and instead management consisted of under-qualified and incapable individuals who offered minimal support and could never assist me alone without involving upper management. Despite the qualifications I hold, I was placed in an administration role where I completed the exact same repetitive tasks for 8 hours every day despite being told on numerous occasions that this would just be temporary. Each day will be expected to complete your job faster and faster and hold a larger workload when they put on promotional offers, instead of the company just simply hiring more competent people. I consistently felt like I was being micro managed and even when unwell, management would have expectations that you showed up to work and suggested you collect your equipment to work from home whilst sick. You were also questioned and asked “what are your symptoms” to get the green light to log off. This company offers absolutely no flexibility, and has even decided to let go of all of their remote staff. You will be hired and offered potential work from home which is only considered after a 6 month probation (despite being able to show competence in this role after mere weeks). This is completely outdated and shows how this company is taking large steps backwards. There are no staff benefits, but lyphe will highlight that they now offer sick pay. This is the absolute bare minimum and should be mandatory. This is not worth the money you are paid. You are much better off working somewhere else that offers more opportunities and has better values. The staff turnover rates at this company says more than words ever could! Although I recognise it’s a startup company, this can no longer be used as an excuse for poor management, shocking workload and lack of staff and support.

We are sorry to hear that you felt there were limited opportunities for career progression and that your skills were not fully recognised. We understand the importance of acknowledging and utilising the diverse skillsets of our team members. We are continuously looking at ways in which we can create opportunities within the Company where there is a business need and encourage all team members who feel they have the right skill set to apply when internal vacancies are advertised. Farnborough is a newly established team, made up of a hand-picked team who we believe share our values to achieve our mission and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. We are a start-up Company within private healthcare. Naturally this means that the environment is fast-paced, agile and is why one of values is resilience. We know it takes superhuman strength to blaze trails in our industry and recognise this can mean having to think and act quickly, change priorities at short notice and support team members because our patients deserve a best-in-class service. We continue to review our employee benefits and as a result, we offer more than just enhanced sick pay to our team members. This includes; additional annual leave, celebration days, enhanced family friendly policies, positive, supportive culture, refer a friend scheme and wellbeing programs. As a new industry in the UK, our team members have the unique ability to work with some of the best industry experts, who frequently share a wealth of knowledge and experience to encourage each individual to learn and develop within their roles. We have recently reviewed our induction program with the help of these industry experts create a robust training schedule, for every new employee, enabling them to feel confident in the services they are offering to our patients. As a Company, we do not stand still. We are committed to continuously reviewing our processes and procedures to support our team members grow as the Company grows.
