Pros

Free daily meal. Staff is generally positive. Product is something you can stand behind when the food distributor sends good product. Customers are generally upbeat.

Cons

The upper management is terrible. They expect the world from you but can't seem to give any sort of positive feedback. The pay is below industry standard. If you are able to blindly agree with everything they say and expect from even when they ask for feedback, then this might be a job for you. Don't expect anything to get done in a timely manner, but they expect you to be available 24/7 even as an Assistant Manager. The upper management have the grandest superiority complex I have ever experienced in working in restaurants. Furthermore, they have no appreciation for the skills and experiences of previous employment. If you are an individual that likes progress reports, then expect them to be negative every time; you can never be doing good enough. In terms of day to day operations: God forbid that you run out or miss-order one of the 60+ items on the menu because you will be hearing from 6 different bosses that it is unacceptable that these instances occur. If you have a customer complaint, 6 bosses will comment about how unacceptable that is. However, if you exceed your sales goal or catering goal you will be lucky if anyone even says anything. The upper management have little time for issues going on in your store. NOTE: if you decided you are moving on, as I did, be prepared to be bullied into you giving your notice and then being told that they will not be needing your time anymore. DON'T GIVE 2 weeks, just quit.

Pros

Great menu. No fryers. No late nights. Pay is competitive. If you want to advance, opportunities exist but be prepared for intense criticism with sparse praise regardless of performance.

Cons

No 401K. Bonus structure is just OK for most. Lack of honesty and integrity among some corporate employees. Promises made are not kept. Goal setting and reviews for restaurant management are a waste of time as no follow up is ever performed. Self promoting corporate leadership that constantly focuses on the negatives of their operators. Employees are often ridiculed and made fun of by directors during store visits. If you are content with being used and not rewarded, this may be the place for you.
