Pros

The training is amazing! They really teach you to be a true artist and inspire you. Products are some of the best in the business and unlike working in a department store there is no calling customers and asking for presell or booking.

Cons

Managment is horrible. There is no room for growth and do NOT promote within the company. Managers hire ALL their friends and take advantage of being on salary and do not clock in and out and often Time will just leave in middle of shift and never return. Corporate has an extremely high turnover rate, as soon as Michael DeVilles left the company went down. After being there 4 years I got a $1.00 raise, afte being #1 in sales for 2 years.

Pros

The best part of MAKE UP FOR EVER is that it's a maison of LVMH, which has great benefits.

Cons

The company is fairly small, yet, the HR team doesn't care about you as an individual. Not only do they disobey their on confidentiality agreement, but they continuously reschedule your meetings and give you false promises. In addition, many executives need to be reconsidered; after continuous complaints, resignations, and even lawsuits, MAKE UP FOR EVER has kept employees who do not deserve to be managing a human being. The amount of turnover that has occurred, not only in my department, but throughout the entire company, has been enormous and should be a huge red flag to upper management.

Pros

LVMH on your Resume Lenient Daily Hours Casual Environment

Cons

HR cares more about getting wasted (drunk or high 24/7) than actual people relations. This is great if you are fresh out of college but not as an actual working professional. Catty Executives that are out of touch with current beauty trends. Merit doesn't exist here. Everything is about politics and emotions. High turnover and ambiguous job descriptions because staffing is done based on personal feelings - not actual business needs.

Thank you for your feedback. We take these allegations very seriously. To clarify a few points in this post, the HR team is responsible for engagement activities in addition to their day to day “people” responsibilities. One such activity, which seems to have been taken out of context, is our Tribe Drinks initiative. This is a highly successful initiative where we come together as a group every few months to share drinks and learn about new product launches. We believe that building a sense of community (or “Tribe”, as we call it), helps foster a productive and collaborative work environment and keeps morale up throughout the organization. With that in mind, we believe that the consumption of alcohol in a work environment should done responsibly and do not support any behavior where an employee may lose control or endanger their own health and safety or the health and safety of others. Please feel free to reach out to us on hrlive@makeupforever.fr so we can address your concerns.
