Pros

possible to build friendships here

Cons

- the way they have handled employee dismissals has been completely illegal. Multiple times they have made people "redundant" due to personal vendettas against them as they do not have legal reasons to fire them, then when enough time has passed that same job title that was apparently no longer needed pops up again with a slightly different title - extremely unprofessional environment, as some members of management joined the company when it was small, were at the right place at the right time, and have ended up in high positions that they are totally (and literally) unqualified for. I was personally bullied by my manager and experienced physical health problems due to the stress - they will try and low-ball your salary as much as possible. If you are at the interview stage with them, do not accept an offer without negotiating the salary, because they do not have a formal salary review process and more likely than not you will be stuck with this salary until you leave. Do not fall for "we will review your salary once you pass probation".

ME+EM does not respond to individual comments and we respect your decision to leave your review. However, we have had 3 previous employees who left the business return to us within the last 12 months and our average retention rate is greater than 85% vs a national average of 57%. We are pleased to have some of the highest levels of employee satisfaction in the industry. Our 2022 employee engagement survey showed 96% of employees were proud to work for ME+EM and 94% would recommend ME+EM as a great place to work. We carry out exit interviews with all employees who leave the business and take their feedback on board to help us improve.

Pros

- Made some great friends here (most have also since left)

Cons

- Only flexible with WFH when it suits managers, will make you basically beg to WFH for an appointment etc. - Workload is overbearing, if you ask for help the blame will be put on your work output, and they won't entertain the idea of looking at how deadlines and launches are proposed in order to help manage workload. - No opportunity for development or career growth due to being so overworked with the day-to-day tasks. - They'll brag about a high retention rate that may have been the case 2+ years ago, but in my 12 months here, 9 people left due to being overworked and/or bullied by managers. Retention is only high because of the people that have been there 5+ years and promoted to high positions without the actual experience or knowledge for the job. - HR is a joke. Exit interviews will not remain confidential, and they will offer no real help with any kind of mental well-being. They'll play the part by having a well-being talk (in your own time), that no managers or senior staff attend, and is ran by someone with a HR background and no mental health training. - There was a HR data breach where every employees' personal details, contracts and documents were openly accessible to anyone within the company. No one was informed of this breach and the whole thing was covered up by HR.

Pros

I wish there were some pros other than the staff discount.

Cons

- Toxic working environment. - Leadership team including the CEO are unkind and bully their staff. - Poor management with underqualified heads of department leading teams. - Expected to work well outside of office hours, into the evening, and at weekends. Working for this business absolutely broke me. I had to go to therapy for a year after leaving ME+EM to heal.
