      Pros

      The work is interesting and many good coworkers

      Cons

      Everything to do with this companies management and owners. No concern for employee wellbeing. The culture is cut throat and demeaning. Do yourself a favor and check with an active employee before you hire or even interview here. Watch as they post a canned response about the open door policy. When in actuality they do not have an interest in making things better, and you will likely be fired for trying to stand up for what's right. Middle management is powerless to make changes for fear the main owner will get mad and fire them.

We are disappointed you feel MERRILL has no concern for our team member's wellbeing and would like to take a couple of moments to remind you of all the great programs MERRILL has in place to support our employees. During your employment, you were offered an excellent health and benefits package, paid major holidays, and a 401(k) with employer match. In addition, bi-annual meetings are hosted to keep the team up-to-date on professional accomplishments, current projects, and exciting news within the company. We also offer our team a yearly invitation to participate in an anonymous team member satisfaction survey to share feedback regarding areas of improvement. Between January and June of this year, we have celebrated 40 team members milestone anniversaries with an upgraded year of service program that offers an enhanced award selection. Just last week, the entire MERRILL team from each of our locations gathered in Merrill to celebrate our CEO’s 40th work anniversary! We understand these offerings may not overshadow some of the improvements that may need to be made within our organization.       Upper Management Takes Hands-On Approach

      Pros

      MTG is a great place to work for an individual who is looking to expand their knowledge and work in various different areas. They like to move people from one department to another to gain a better perspective about the company. The benefits are great and they offer PTO for Good Friday, Christmas Eve, & NYE, which many companies do not. There is a lot of room for growth as an individual and if you are a hard worker, they will treat you well!

      Cons

      Communication is a major concern for many individuals. Because some team members have done your job before, they often step on your toes to get results and forget that you are the one actually in the role. This can be a challenge, but typically, talking to each other will resolve the issues.

      Your positive outlook on Merrill is refreshing! It is challenging when people forget to involve the person who is actually in the position where change is being requested. You are correct that your voice should be heard and that the solution is two-way communication. Should this continue to happen, please feel empowered to get upper management or HR involved so we can work to a better solution. It is only by working as a team will our challenges get resolved.

      Good place to work, room to grow

      Pros

      Good place to work. Different projects to work on daily. Fast-paced work environment makes days go quickly. 401K and benefits are good. Hard working employees get noticed by top executives/management.

      Cons

      Too many chain emails. Micro-managed by top management on occasion. Poor communication methods. Processes are in place but not always enforced strongly enough. New hire training programs need some work (there needs to be more time dedicated to explaining the direction a new employee is supposed to be going, not just hit the floor running). Job descriptions need to be updated and employees need to be held accountable for poor performance/not doing what their supposed to be doing.
