Pros

It is a lot of fun, and you work with some of the most caring, generous and friendly people. The work is fulfilling.

Cons

They cover up a toxic work environment with fun parties and outings, Their lateral violence policy only seems to apply to front-line staff, and not management, They provide no ongoing training, and you are trained solely by peers, and those peers are learning as they go instead of being developed or taught by anyone in a higher position, but that is probably because the people in the higher positions have never been front line staff because they are all related to the director. It really does put a damper on a great mission and great values.

High Turnover

Pros

You can gain some experience in the field. But move onto a better company as fast as you can

Cons

This organization is filled with nepotism and unskilled management. You are paid the lowest wages in the field. It's okay to get experience. But move on as soon as you can. The company pays reviews and gets family members to write positive reviews for them. Negative reviews have been taken down from them on Indeed as they do not want new hires to know how they work. Turn over is incredibly high for a reason.

Pros

9-5 working hours are the only good thing

Cons

I do not recommend working at Makoon. While the work they do is meaningful, the upper management team operates as a tight-knit clique — you either fit in, or you don’t. Despite frequently discussing the importance of preventing lateral violence, the management team itself is one of the biggest contributors to it within the organization During my time there, I was subjected to highly inappropriate questions about my sexual orientation which I brushed off as a misunderstanding ( being a new staff I was weary of causing problems) This level of unprofessionalism was unacceptable, and I regret not addressing it further at the time. Additionally, I have personally witnessed Makoon offering incentives to clients in exchange for positive Google reviews. The organization's consistently high staff turnover speaks volumes, and it is no surprise that they are always looking to fill positions. Proceed with caution if considering employment here.
