FOR APPLICANTS!!! : Hostile work environment, fake reviews, and vengeful
Pros
The patients, the non-provider staff
Cons
Please do not work here. They will work you into the ground and verbally abuse you nearly every day. The founding Doctor has free reign to say any and everything that comes to her mind, taking out her frustrations on the employees. Here are key examples of abuse: 1) If there an internet problem with a patient's Doxy app? She will scold you in front of the patient for THEIR technical problems. " For example, "Why is this not working, this is your job to make this work." I am on the medical side, not IT. Repeat this scenario about 4 times a day. 2) When a colleague, unfortunately, was severely sick and called out for one day, she flat out said ( prior to me even saying hello for the day) to me " I cannot believe she is not here, I never missed a day of work while I had (a certain medical condition)". We have sick days for a reason. 3) Likewise, I cannot overemphasize how many times I was interrupted when seeing a patient by the owner to inform me that the next patient was ready. THIS HAPPENED NEARLY EVERY OTHER VISIT. In the middle of a physical visit or virtual visit, you must pick up the phone because if you do not, she will come barging in. Not only does this create a sense of constant micromanaging but not all things can be rushed. Especially medicine 4) Other comments: "Why are you so slow with this?" "Why are you so stressed?" "I work harder than you?" " I can see X amount of patients, why can't you?" As per my contract, I originally signed up for a certain allotted time shift. After the 2nd day, I was working an additional 3+hrs PER shift. I went from 9 hours to 12 hours as you are constantly berated to do better, and work harder. I stopped all hobbies and family time to give this position more than 100% and yet it was never good enough. Also, meal breaks do not exist. The owner and her son are in a cultural bubble with a skewed perspective on their employees and what the practice entails. Just because you are raised a certain way by owner, does not mean that is okay to apply that standard to your staff. The issue is there is no HR department. The owner and son are HR. The son who is the CEO does not understand because he is seeing all these "problems" from a skewed perspective. I warn everyone to please stay away. I am not surprised that they constantly need employees. Most of the MAs, front desk, and intake employees are stuck in this job because there is nothing better jobwise so they have to take the abuse. They fear to speak up, because she will double down on you. Furthermore, my biggest gripe is the lack of genuine concern and professionalism. You are berated for every little detail. The "Owner" and "Leader" mentality refers to the owners mindset, that if you do the slightest subjective action/inaction or words said/unsaid, you are ATTACKING the practice. Such black and white thinking. The Electronic Medical Record system is so cheap and inefficient that it has ADVERTISEMENTS IN IT!!! Everything is free text including the physical exam, review of systems, etc. Which is why it takes so long to chart. The older provider and owner have phone medical scribes to offset this but you cannot have one. This logic will set you up for failure. Likewise, you see all those positive google reviews, it is all a LIE. They rebranded the facility and push 5 star reviews toward patients at every chance they get. Especially when you are checking -in and checking out. They will hound you at every visit to leave a review. I am genuinely thankful patients are having a good experience! What you do not see on the job posting is: 1. You will be working well before or past your shift hence why they salary you. 2. Look at the contracts so they cannot take away meal breaks. Shifts are well into 50-60hrs a week MINIMUM as a provider. It has NEVER been 40hours. 3. Each provider brags how long they stayed up or how early they woke up. For example, "I stayed up until 3am doing charts, why aren't you?" 4. The owner shoves religion down your throat every chance you can get. Highly inappropriate. 5. You will not be seeing 2.5 pts per hour, it will be 4-5 easily. 6. There is no flexible schedule. 7. The practice's mindset is this, "EITHER YOU ARE WITH ME OR AGAINST ME" If you have worked or plan on working here, this is my biggest piece of advice: If you end up leaving for any reason, and your future employer requires a work history preference, THEY WILL JEOPARDIZE YOUR FUTURE EMPLOYMENT BY EXAGGERATING THINGS so you are at fault. So petty and vengeful. I would not recommend my worst enemy work here! I cannot fathom why they said one comment but not the other 15 negative aspects that lead to an employee leaving. Never have I been so frankly ridiculed, attacked, and frightful each and every day of work. I feel for the rest of the staff, they are people who are trying their best. Anything is better than working here.
