Pros

- Free cheap snacks in the pantry to compensate for a total lack of bonuses or inflation adjusted salary raises - that's about it!

Cons

- Frequent late night meetings to accommodate Cayman office hours - Totally no consideration at all, frequently change time of late night meetings less than half an hour before the meeting is due, make you stay up late for nothing - Files are in a complete mess due to Cayman office staff not doing their job and can't be bothered to do a proper handover, they think Asia is still a sweat shop location that will take care of all the problems they created for a small price - Management is absolutely clueless, don't know and don't care what is happening on the ground - Management expects staff to come up with ideas to manage things and people when it is their job to do these things, what a joke - Salary is BELOW market average but employer's expectation of staff is SKY HIGH - Absolutely DO NOT recommend anyone to work in this company

Pros

Unfortunately I cannot provide any positive recommendations at this time.

Cons

My time at Maples Group very nearly jeopardised my career. My experiences consisted of being talked down to, being demeaned for my career aspirations, made to feel as though I'd never progress in my career and bullied by the Security team managers toxic attitude. Unfortunately these same managers like to talk to staff as if they are nothing. Often making inappropriate comments to my colleges and predecessors who had the role before myself. I would often provide advice on issues that the team would deal with on a daily basis. Despite my advice to remediate these issues I was again belittled and nothing was done. One incident had my manager reviewing my Linkedn account, then completely fabricating a story about myself and spreading said story through out the team, only to then confront me about an article I had read, titled (Why Certs are Bad) When I asked my manager if he had read the article in its entirety, he told me that he had only read the title. To this day my Linkedn account is still viewed by the team using group accounts in an attempt to hide themselves. I tried to approach the team with how they were treating myself and others. I was once again belittled and told I was too sensitive. I saw that I had no choice but to raise a grievance with the HR team, my employment was terminated shortly after. When I asked what would happen to my grievance I was told by HR that the grievance would be terminated as well. Both the HR and InfoSec team (In my opinion) seem to be tick in the box teams, there only to fill space. It is a tragedy that companies like this still exist in the industry whose staff are allowed to be treated in such a poor manner. If you value your mental health and career, please avoid Maples Group and the Information Security team at all costs.
