Pros
I worked at Marcus & Associates for about 4 years, and have nothing but positive things to say. John & Ellen, the partners of the firm, do business the right way and treat their staff well. Was my first job in recruiting out of school and I learned a lot about the trade of recruiting, but also saw more experienced recruiters come through and make good money. Family-like atmosphere, with a focus on quality and on working hard--but not the sweat-shop environment of many recruiting firms. They also place a high value on creating positive experience for both the candidates and their clients, so not pushing candidates onto clients that don't make sense. Will help you identify your strengths in recruiting and leverage that, but include you in both parts of the business--candidates and clients. Because they've been in business over 20 years have strong core clients that pay well and can make for 'easy' placements at times. Pretty adaptable and open to change. I made good money here in the heart of the recession so it is a group that I would definitely call stable in terms of earning potential. Fun people to know on a personal level.
Cons
At the time (4+ years ago), benefits were a little light but I believe they are better now and on par with other recruiting firms.
