Pros

Benefits are great - state health insurance, excellent employer contributions toward coverage, great retirement plan with company match, good paid time off allowances. Excellent mission, to bring economic development to underserved communities in the state.

Cons

No one is empowered to do everything. The reason they're still doing everything the same way they did it 20 years ago is because no one is allowed to make any updates - not to technology, not to formatting, not to process or procedure. Hierarchy and politics are awful. God forbid anyone with experience outside of the agency make a suggestion for an improvement or express an independent thought.

Pros

some work flexibility and decent medical benefit options

Cons

Employees are not valued by the CEO. Very low merit increases that don't keep up with inflation. No internal promotions. Low employee morale.

Pros

The people and the mission. The Agency does a lot of great work across the Commonwealth and there are truly wonderful people working there who care about the mission and stay because of it.

Cons

Dan Rivera, President & CEO, 1000%. (Marty Jones is not the current CEO). Dan is a bully and a terrible manager who has destroyed the Agency since he arrived. His "obey and grieve" mentality has resulted in large numbers of people heading for the door. He has created positions for political hacks/friends, he's fired people unjustly, he's outsourced two key departments resulting in security breaches to the Agency's network, he's threatened staff in emails, he's misspent Agency funds. He's totally incompetent and can't stand having someone around him who's smarter.
