Pros
Working at MedSleep was an eye-opening experience, and not in a good way. The organization is dominated by a top-down, fear-driven leadership style that feels more like an old boys’ club than a healthcare company. Key leadership roles are filled based on personal loyalty to the CEO rather than healthcare expertise, which creates a culture where decisions are made behind closed doors and employees are expected to fall in line without question.
The CEO lacks transparency, emotional intelligence, and basic operational consistency. Other levels of management tend to mimic the same behaviours, dismissive, abrasive, and generally disconnected from the realities of frontline staff. There is one individual in particular who effectively positions herself as the authority over Ontario operations, but her approach is frequently confrontational and demoralizing. She's a CEO fave. Staff morale suffers because feedback is unwelcome and psychological safety simply doesn’t exist.
If you’re looking for professional development, supportive leadership, or a collaborative environment, this is not the place. High turnover is the consequence of a culture that prioritizes power dynamics over people. Don't get attached to anyone because they will be gone if they don't follow the boys club rules.
Cons
Csuite selected for loyalty, not competence. Full on bribes from upper chiefs.
Toxic communication style from management
Zero transparency
Employee input is ignored
Culture of intimidation and inconsistency. Employees live in fear of termination, so really, the people they have are only there because they probably cannot be employed anywhere else.
