Pros

I get to work directly with well known brands and agencies on impactful campaigns. The campaigns we all work on have direct results and success for these brands, which is rewarding and makes my position feel valuable. The team is young and fun, but everyone's hard working and career driven, which helps me feel motivated on a daily basis to grow my role and responsibilities here and keep Mediakix at the top of it's industry. There is significant opportunity to affect processes within the company and offer company optimizations. I'm grateful for the recent improvements in company culture, including achievement recognition and additional benefits. Good opportunity to learn about the influencer marketing space, and specialize in this type of advertising. We rarely have to work late nights or weekends. There may be an email or two here and there, but overall I really like that I can leave the office at 5:30 or 6, and have time for the rest of my life outside of work. No one micro manages you. Start up lifestyle means we're not stuck in a corporate company structure or growth strategy. I'm compensated well, and have heard the same from other employees. The company is doing well so job security comes easy.

Cons

Things can get really busy and we don't always have the bandwidth to handle all the campaigns and projects. I've noticed we're hiring more to fill in the positions we need the most, and the CEO talks to us about focusing on and improving hiring to help make our lives easier, which I appreciate. Not every employee has a defined manager, which means autonomy and responsibility on the plus side, but also lack of direction on some projects on the down side. Because everyone's so busy, training can be challenging to complete thoroughly. Frequently new employees are given a good initial training, but as things get busy, they are expected to learn as they go. The right people can fill in the gaps and intuitively learn certain processes, but there are some internal procedures that require direct training that managers don't always cover fully

Pros

Cool industry to be working in. Company is innovative. Fun, young office. Great growth opportunities. By the beach. Opportunites to learn a ton and work with really talented people. Ability to work on a ton of different projects and lead projects.

Cons

Teams have at times been understaffed. Not always clear management structure. Sometimes not given clear guidance on projects, having to learn on the go.

Pros

To preface...many of the things that could be considered pros or what make Mediakix great are coincidentally a lot of its cons. If you’re considering working at Mediakix, have a clear picture of what’s important to you. - Pace/velocity - being a part of a fast-growing, developing industry at one of the leading influencer marketing companies. Ample growth trajectory and career advancement opportunities (if you excel in the following few points) - “Startup culture” - if you’re the type of person who likes to figure things out for themselves, chart new/improved ways of doing things, take projects from A to Z, or thrives in an always-changing environment, you’d do well here - “Wearing many hats” - if you enjoy switching gears, being involved in a variety of projects, shifting roles and responsibilities, and thrive with spontaneity, you’d do well here - “Results/goal-oriented” - Mediakix is definitely a results/goal-oriented company. If you’re driven by achievement/performance and want to work with people who share the same drive and aptitude, then Mediakix will be refreshing It is nice to work literally at the beach and off Main Street in Santa Monica. The office is brand new.

Cons

- Pace/velocity - both the industry and company move extremely fast. Not the environment for people who don’t thrive in or aren’t used to a fast pace. - “Startup culture” - if you aren’t the type of person who likes to figure things out for themselves, chart new/improved ways of doing things, need constant hand-holding, or thrives in an always-changing environment, Mediakix is not for you. Startups are hard and they’re not for everyone. - “Wearing many hats” - if you aren’t the type of person who can easily switch gears, be involved in a variety of projects, and comfortable with shifting roles, responsibilities, and spontaneity, Mediakix is not for you. - “Results/goal-oriented” - if you don’t want to be measured by your performance, results, or ability to get things done right, then don’t work at Mediakix.
